Forums - Gaming - Surfer Girl's take on Activision + Blizzard mix and Diablo III

This is what she says:

Q: "I had a feeling that Activision would do something outlandish to prevent them from losing money and announcing the formation of a conglomerate on Sunday is that."

Hmm? You're wrong in this statement. Vivendi bought 52% of Activision. Activision didn't do anything.

A: kirolos: "Under the terms of the agreement, Vivendi Games will be merged with a wholly owned subsidiary of Activision."

Vivendi to Contribute Vivendi Games Valued at $8.1 Billion, Plus $1.7 Billion in Cash in Exchange for Approximately 52% Stake in Activision Blizzard at Closing; Total Transaction Valued at $18.9 Billion

Vivendi games division is gone to Ativision, but Vivendi now owns the whole thing.  I am betting this is more a plan for Vivendi to get their games division to be useful for something other than the next Blizzard title.

Actually I'm right, Blizzard never ported to consoles. They outsourced it. Atleast I'm sure they outsourced both Starcraft and Diablo console versions. I don't know if they did it to Warcraft 2 too. One thing to note though is that no Blizzard game has been ported to consoles since 2000.

The Warcraft game that Surfergirl is referring for a 2009 release would be either a port of World of Warcraft to consoles, or WoW 2 for PC/MAC. both seem unlikely to happen, especially a console WoW port because, let's be honest, it's gameplay is impossible on a gamepad, and if she's thinking they would port it for the consoles owners who happen to have a kb/m too, then she's being deluded.
The other choice would be WoW 2. But that also seems unlikely. Maybe an expansion pack with an overhaul on the graphics is possible, to make a transition between WoW1 and 2.

won't be a wow2- period end of story. why?

no need.

will there be another mmo by blizzard- yep. just not warcraft lore based.

they have more than 3 teams...more like 5 now. they used to have 2 teams.

Surfer Girl doesn't make any amazing predictions... its all common sense and other rumors that have been floating around.

Any credibility Surfer Girl had just dissappeared when she criticized Blizzard. I would typically do a point by point rebuttal of each of her inane criticisms, but I just don't have it in me. One thing; naznatips hit the nail on the head when he dismissed her prediction of a new Syphon Filter. What's she going to "heads-up" us about next, a new Megaman Battlenetwork (Starforce, whatever) Game next year for the DS?

I hate WoW but i agree. Diablo 3 will be aesome jsut like Starcraft 2 (which is popular in America zomg).

Also, I hope what she said is true. Warcraft IV; Drools

Agreed, I dunno how or why "surfer girl" got a following, any cat that follows gaming news and such, could come with the stuff it does. Most prob better.

-UBISOFT BOYCOTT!-

i'm waiting for surfer girl to reveal nintendo is making another game with mario in it

please, don't make diablo 3

currently playing: Skyward Sword, Mario Sunshine, Xenoblade Chronicles X

Never really heard anything realistic on Diablo III. I would love to see it, as Diablo II was the last game Blizzard made that I really liked -- used a day of vacation for it, but this hardly sounds convincing.
