I may be wrong, but didn't Walmart have another gift card deal for the 360 during FFXIII week? Maybe that was the Wii, but I could swear there was a second deal.

After-Christmas Week of Savings
Beginning this Saturday, Dec. 26 through New Year’s Day, Walmart will be ready for weekend shoppers with a variety of new offers with additional savings, including:

* eMachines eM250-1162 Netbook with 250GB Hard Drive, 10.1" Screen -- $228 (begins 8 a.m.)
* Xbox 360 Arcade for $199 with $50 Walmart Gift Card (begins 8 a.m.)
* Xbox 360 Elite bundle $299 with 2 Games and $50 Walmart Gift Card (begins 8 a.m.)
* 50 percent off select holiday candles, ribbons and bows
* Up to 50 percent additional savings on select toys
* 58-quart storage totes for $3.40 and $5 gift wrap and ornament cases

PS3 if I am not mistaken is the only console to not get a Walmart giftcard deal in December.

yep, VGC mentionned the 2 deals

....

So MM isn't right when he says it was a "Pure 360 vs. PS3 battle in December". 360 had a big advantage with (2) $50 giftcard promotions that occured the week before and week after the biggest week of the year.

I guess you could make a case though that it took away from Christmas week sales.

Not even sure it was this one. I could have sworn there was also one on FFXIII week and a Wii one the week before that.

Well that sticks a knife right in the gut of my theory.
