Hi Vgchartz's community!
This thread is for Nintendo fans that still believe in that company (like me).
For the last 20 years, Nintendo has been producing many many games for us, gamers. Unfortunately, Nintendo saw a decrease of sales since the NES.
Nowadays, they can be relieved with their successful Wii and DS.
Nintendo fans are often complaining about their decisions, but can we consider that it's our fault if Nintendo chose this way of doing videogames? They tried to create lot of hardcore games on the GameCube, and they didn't encounter the success they hoped for.
Fans are now saying on forums that the Wii can't offer a good experience for them. I believe that they are wrong. Nintendo's strategy was probably to release casual games first, and then hardcore games. Now, we're moving for 2010 with major hardcore games coming.
Consider that the best 3D Mario game was made on the Wii: Super Mario Galaxy. I personnaly think Nintendo can still do better games than their competitor (although Sony and Microsoft doesn't develops lot of games).
Maybe the next console will be different, but consider that if you put your confidence into Nintendo, they will still unveal surprises only for you, fans. I think Nintendo isn't always thinking about money. See how Punch-Out!! was made only for you. Stop complaining on Nintendo. Remember that they are still able to create BETTER Mario, Zelda, Metroid games for their new consoles.
Consider also that Nintendo always bring brand new elements to their games to let you experience something different. See how Mario Galaxy is different from Mario 64. Of course, they are using the old Mario franchise often, but consider that Mario games are always different each other. It's not just an improved version like Halo 3 or Forza Motorsport 3, it's brand new.
So, do you still love Nintendo like me? Do you think they are able to offer a different gaming experience that brings lot of fun? Do you think Nintendo should make games with TONS of features like MS or Sony's games or still develop simple games which brings the same amount of fun?
I think that video games should stay simple at their base.
