You can't buy a compnay if they not selling.  If Microsoft was to do it, it would mean a lot of change in the companies. People would get fired and some would quit and go work for another company. That would make sales low for games like madden which is the best selling series for EA. I'm not going to buy a xbox just to play EA games.

Also it wouldn't end the war cause Sony can do the same thing by buying other companies.

Ea would lose around 80% of its sales if it would be Xbox 360 only, and then wouldn't be profitble for Microsoft.Same for Square enix.

In the case of Square Enix, most people that own 360's aren't interested in their types of games (or in the case of the Japanese of playing their games on 360). Just look at sales of The Last Remnant, Infinite Undiscovery, and Star Ocean on the 360.

MS doesnt need exclusives like these; they still have the best system on the market.

Note: A big Japanese companies like Square would never sell all out to an American company.

Why don't they just buy Nintendo and Sony's gaming division and have a monopoly? They have the money.

They should buy all EB Games and Gamestop stores and only sell Microsoft products.

3) this is MS we are talking about.  every move they make is highly scrutinized for "anti-comptitive" behavior.  i wouldn't doubt that if they bought EA they'd end up paying more in lawsuits then they would for EA itself.

They should buy the US government and cover the Whitehouse with Xbox 360 posters. Then, use the military budget for TV advertising.
