But ffs.. that has nothing to do with it.

Both consoles does the exact same thing, right? Both will play the exact same way if both are plugged in on a hard line and on a SDTV, right? So based on that chart, why would you chose the 360?

If two cars cost the exact same way and they handle the exact same way, but one of them has a cup holder, dvd player in the back seat and aircondition included for the same price. Why would one "settle" for the car with less features? Just because i dont plan on visiting the McDonalds drive thru - dont plan on watching dvds in the back seat and can just roll down the windows of my car to get AC - dosent mean i wont enjoy those features, ever.

I don't disagree with you, that the elite does match up poorly at the same price.  Wifi and Blu-Ray are not necessities for me and I refused to pay a premium for them; but some will see them as nice perks or additions to have, particularly when there is no cost difference.

You are however forgetting that there is still an alternative that allows you access to the entire 360 library for $100 less.  Using your car example, why would I buy one with a DVD player and A/C if I never intended on using those features and could get a car for significantly less without them?

True. But then it wouldn't be the same car.

And it would look like this. ;)

Yeah the 360 has such great value and games. I want to get an elite now.

why did you say yea when you disagree with the article in the  OP.Case article said PS3 is a better value.

you should have said no, i disagree. "yeah " doesn't make sense here .

and you really are kidding when you say X360 is such a great value at 299 compared to PS3 at 299,,right?(games are subjective and diffrerent story)

Games are not a different story at all.  A PS3 at $50 is not good value if it doesn't have awesome games.  And at this point the only objective aggregates we have indicate that the Xbox 360 has a far superior library of games.  More quality, more depth, more variation.

Individuals can disagree on their personal taste, but for the masses the objective indicators are clear.  If you are in the market for a Blu-Ray player that may change your perception of value.  Other than that, based on what is available to us now, equal prices makes the Xbox 360 worth more.

For the record I have had a PS3 six months and enjoy many of the games.  But I do not own a single Blu-Ray despite having two HDTV's.

That's sooo 2007. Let it go.

Xbox 360 AAA: 21

PS3 AAA: 13

Wii AAA: 9

Xbox 360 85+: 68

PS3 85+: 54

Wii 85+: 22

Apparently it's a 2009 thing too.

I'm not saying the PS3 has a bad library.  I wouldn't own one if it did.  But there is a better one this generation.

PS3 AAA games in 2009: 2

360 AAA games in 2009 : 0

Does this means PS3 has better lineup in 2009? NO, because better libary of games is based on opinnion.

Exclusives:

Highest rated PS3 exclusive: LittleBigPlanet 95, on metacritic

Highest rated 360 exclusive: Halo 3, 94 on metacritic

Best game for 360 2007: COD4 (multiplatform that also happens to be on PS3) (IGN)

Best game for PS3 2007: Uncharted (PS3 exclusive) (IGN)

Best game for 360 2008: Fallout 3 ( also on PS3 ) (IGN)

Best game for PS3 2008: Metal Gear Solid 4 (PS3 exclusive) (IGN)

Does this means PS3 has better exclusives? NO, because like i said before, better libary of games are BASED ON OPINNION.

@ bladofgod - Dont feed him. Metacritic references are true, everybody knows that, there's nothing we can do. PS3 is doomed.

Yeah I completely agree..  Although higher metacritics usually mean it's a better game, doesn't necesseraly mean it's more popular, or that you'll like them more than lower rated games.

According to metacritic, and what you wrote BladeOfGod, means that PS3 has lesser, but more quality games.. but still, metacritics is just opinions.

And that "starcraft" is using metacritics and # of AAA games is just lame and desperate. Considering the Xbox 360 has been out 4 years, and the PS3 has been out 3 years. So to conclude AAA titles per year it'll be like this:

Xbox 360: 5,2 games per year
Playstation 3: 4,3 games per year

and games rated 85+

Xbox 360: 17 games per year
Playstation 3: 18 games per year

Ofc Xbox 360 has MORE good games, but when you look at games AFTER PS3 release, it'll be pretty much the same.

Currently Playing: Uncharted 2 & Kingdom Hearts 2

I have never understood the lack of WiFi for the Xbox 360.

Simple. XBL bandwith is excellent. You don't want to ruin that with Wifi.

Evan Wells (Uncharted 2): I think the differences that you see between any two games has much more to do with the developer than whether it’s on the Xbox or PS3.

Game quality is extremely subjective, particularly between systems with such largely overlapping libraries. When it really comes down to it it's the exclusive games, both released and upcoming, are what is going to drive consumers one way or the other and in that regard both systems are fairly equal.Xbox 3601. Halo 32. Gears of War3. Gears of War 24. Mass Effect5. Forza Motorsport 26. Project Gotham Racing 37. Project Gotham Racing 48. Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts9. Ninja Gaiden II10. LipsPlayStation 31. Killzone 22. Resistance: Fall of Man3. Resistance 24. Uncharted: Drake's Fortune5. Gran Turismo 5: Prologue6. MotorStorm7. MotorStorm: Pacific Rift8. LittleBigPlanet9. Ninja Gaiden Sigma10. SingStarIn the end, most consumers who don't have an immediate preference on one or the other's exclusive games are going to look at the fact that the PS3 has a blu-ray player, wireless WI-FI, Free online, and rechargeable controllers right out of the box for the exact same price as a 360 and make an obvious conclusion.

it shocks me as to why someone would by a 360 elite when the PS3 is the same price.

Saying that i dont know anyone with a 360 elite in the UK they all have arcades and pro's.

Even though the Elite ha sbeen a lot cheaper then the ps3 for a very long time.

Feature for feature its clear who wins but it is a complete lie about BC.

the 360 can play xbox games so

Nobody's perfect. I aint nobody!!!

Killzone 2. its not a fps. it a FIRST PERSON WAR SIMULATOR!!!! ..The true PLAYSTATION 3 launch date and market dominations is SEP 1st

Yeah, considering the 360 will play just about every original xbox game you are likely to have, saying it has no backwards compatibility is a downright lie, but it's refreshing and shocking to see that the PS3 fans are making up some excuses like "It's limited!"
