Forums - Nintendo Discussion - FFCC: Crystal Bearers - New gameplay clips with awesome music

@Chrizum

I see this game does not fit to your standards for an RPG, and I don't blame you. In fact, the elements the game has barely fits it in the genre, and has some elements that might go against the "common knowledge" of what an RPG should have.

I don't see the game has a minigame collection like you do. The video show the events that you, as the player can trigger while you play, and these triggers reward you with items or in another way. In my opinion, this will give replay value because I want to trigger all the events and have chuckle or laugh in the process.

As for the music, can anyone give an official game design document template that says that all RPGs must have orchestrated music, or that it should not have country music? Appealing to common sense is total BS. The only "rule" is that the music should support the feeling the game developers want to transmit to the players.

What I see from the videos and the music, is that the purpose is to make the game "fun", to make us gamers chuckle and relaxed as we play the game. I feel invited to try many things and forget just a little bit about the game plot, which is a good thing

The main problem about the trailers is it doesnt show actual gameplay, it just show great graphics, and a guy randomly waving things on the air, with hilarious music in the background, it looks like a good game, but it doesnt show any deep gameplay, it doesnt show the background of the game, its weird... it looks great though

It shows the player in the game. That is the definition of showing gameplay. If you mean "deep" gameplay, no trailer can show that, as you can't see the damn controller working.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

There seems to be two sides to this game. The more light hearted side used in the side-quests which probably gives you a relief from the more serious main story aspect of the game. To say that this won't be "epic" is something I really don't understand, especially when you look at the story focused trailers. They are overly dramatic, and more serious than they need to be like almost every other Jrpg churning out lately. The gameplay also looks VERY innovative with you controlling enemies and items using the gravity aspect. That gives you unlimited possibilities for attacks and a lot more depth than you are giving credit. Also it has something I am REALLY excited for: A huge open world that you can explore. That is probably the thing I love most about RPGs, and Action-Adventure games, and when you have an RPG(that isn't Tactical) where you just click the place you want to go and your automatically there I feel very dissapointed in the game, and sometimes it tells just how much time the developers put into it.

My god that music is terrible. It doesn't even fit with the gameplay and graphics.

I'm predicting a 6.9 on Metacritic for this game. Somehow, it seems genuinely lacking. It just doesn't look epic, but instead it looks silly and minigame-ish.

Based on a couple trailers you didn't like?

Actually that seems to be reviewers and the Wii these days.

Yes, based on all the gameplay vids I've seen. On what else should I base it on?

The completed fucking game.

The game isn't completed yet, so it would be impossible to base my prediction on, wouldn't it?

Then you shouln't make it, at least not based on the game. The general sentiment among previews is often a better indicator. It means the reviews were decided beforehand (and therefore not really valid as reviews), but it is an indicator of the reviews.

I'm just saying how I feel about this game. These trailers are made to let people see what the game is about. I don't like what I see.

And I can make all the predictions I want, thank you very much.

You didn't just make it. You wrote it as though it was certain. That was the BS part. Unless potential reviewers were indicating they felt the same way, your prediction has no foundation.

It's why all the predictions about World At War selling poorly compared to Call of Duty 4 were weak, because they based it on the buyers caring about who made the game and the setting. The predictors cared, but not the buyers. Thus the predictions had no foundation.

A prediction is by definition uncertain, so your entire post is what I'd cal the BS part... It seems you feel personally offended because of the fact that some stranger doesn't seem to dig a game you like.

No, you're disliking the previews, not the game. And you jumped from you just not liking the previews (which in itself is not the problem), to claiming the reviews from that (which is what I called you on).

Oh go cry me a river. Based on what I've seen I think the game will be mediocre. If you have any problems with that, you've got issues.

And if you read "you can't make a prediction of reviews based solely on your feelings" as "I don't like how you feel about this", you got reading comprehension issues.

oh don't worry, it isn't the first time he gets owned. He posts pure BS most of the time. You're entitled to your opinion anytime.
