Lol, cherry picking for the win!
Yes in the extreme case, we could have 40% of US sales vs 27% for total hardware sold. DS is much bigger in the UK than US as is PS3 so that skews the figure a fair bit for the 27%. A more realistic comparison would be the 50% I first posted (taking 600k as everyone is assuming) vs 22-23% for the general UK:US Xbox ratio we have seen in previous years. Selling twice as fast as it "should be" is unreasonable to me, even given the price point (and arcades are cheaper than Wiis in America as well).
No "cherry picking" going on, and no "extreme cases" either. I was being generous with the X360 prediction for June, in reality it will probably be less than 1.3m. As for "taking 600k as everyone is assuming",it's been pointed out several times why these assumptions are flawed, but if you want to base your assumptions off of fanboy expectations go ahead. This will be the last post I make on this site, so I apologise in advance for not replying to your rebuttle.
WTF? You were the one who criticised my original post - I pointed out the flaws in your argument and you don't like it?
"With rounding it could be as low as 0.5m" - and it could be as high as 0.7m in the UK.
"UK sold 27% of US hardware last year" - like I said DS / PS3 skew that up, the Xbox ratio is more like 20%
So you basically picked the extremes and still got to a point where the UK:US ratio was 40% vs what you thought was a more typical 27% - which in itself raises alarm bells. When you take the opposite extremes you can get to a point where you have 50% vs 20% which is obviously even more unbelievable.
I am the one who has pointed out how flawed all the assumptions are - that is exactly the point I have been trying to make. Personally I think the Xbox360 figures in the UK are probably more like 350k but a combination of rounding, adjustments have made the figure look like 600k which I have stated looks wrong for a number of reasons, one of which is this comparison with US data. It was a reasonable point but you argued against it with an extreme example to try to suggest that selling even 500k Xbox360s in the last 5 months in the UK is reasonable when it's not as it would represent around 45% of US sales in the same timeframe when normally you'd expect UK sales to be closer to 20% of US.
Don't see why you take offence to any of that and I really don't see where I have been fanboyish about anything lol? Only thing that matters to me is VGChartz, I couldn't care less which console is "winning", just reporting the facts as accurately as we can.
