Everything in my game collection is highly reccomended.... with a couple of conditions:

Don't buy either Deadly Creatures or Geometry Wars: Galaxies at full price.... well Galaxies depends on how much you like that type of game, but I would say don't pay more than whatever comes to 3/4 of normal game price wherever you live. Deadly Creatures is a really nice game, but I can't see how my total time spent on it will even reach 20 hours, and that is going through all 3 difficulty levels... while if you go straight through the story on easy it will probably be about 7 hours. Thus I deem the game half price at best.

Galaxy wars is normally 40% of full price (in US).  I agree it wouldn't be worth it at $50.

There are relatively very few (far fewer than what's currently selling at that price) games worth full $50 price.  (Maybe a dozen out of the hundreds of games.  A lot are worth $30, and luckily there are dozens that are worth more but you can get for great deal at only $20 and surprisingly you can get some new for $10 that are worth more than that.

I don't buy many games at, or often anywhere near full price.... but the majority I would not have been displeased had I bought them at full price. Endless Ocean was a budget price game at launch, but in retrospect would have happily paid £35 (seems to be standard launch Wii price)

Geometry Wars is so far the cheapest Wii disc I have bought, at £8.... which I believe is equivalent to the price of Retro Evolved on the X360, and considering RE is like 1/60th of Galaxies it was well worth it.

And yes, most of my collection can be found now for even less than I bought them for.... especially if you are willing to go 2nd hand. I bought Metroid Prime 3 and No More Heroes together for £30 second hand (so £15 each) but I have seen MP3 for £15 new, and NMH for £10 new more recently.

Not meaning to derail the thread... but a new wii owner can always use good advice...

I rarely pay full launch price (unless they launch under $50). Seems like there is a sale once or twice a year where you can buy 2 get 1 free games, which is good for those titles (ie: Nintendo) that never drop in price... Have been a few games I paid full price for, and The Coduit will soon be another one of those very rare occasions...

No-one mentioned Kororinpa, so I feel it is my duty to do so.

Also, its sequel (Marble Saga Kororinpa / Marbles! Balance Challenge) is the PINNACLE of marble games.

WHERE IS MY KORORINPA 3

@jlauro - Indeed.

I am actually not certain what the standard RRP is here for new games... some games seem to launch at £35, while others are £40... but here is a list of my games in price order (assuming my memory serves me well)

£40 - LoZ: Twilight Princess [New at launch price] (but I had store credit from selling my GC... so I only handed over £4)

£35 - Super Mario Galaxy [New at launch price]

£33 - Wii Play [2nd hand, I think RRP is/was £35]

£30 - Mario Kart Wii [New, but discounted - RRP is £35]

£28 - Zack & Wiki [New, discounted - RRP could be £35 or £40.. no idea]

£26 - SSX Blur [New, discounted - RRP was probably £40]

£24 - Excite Truck [2nd hand - RRP was £35]

£24 - Deadly Creatures [New, discount - RRP was probably £35]

£20 - Battalion Wars [2nd hand - RRP was £35]

£18 - Endless Ocean [New, slightly discount - RRP was £20] (was actually bought for me)

£15 - Metroid Prime 3 [2nd hand, bundle deal - RRP probably £35, may have been £40]

£15 - No More Heroes [2nd Hand, bundle deal - RRP probably £35]

£12 - Okami Wii [New, heavily discounted, RRP unknown on... probably £35 or £40, but being a port I could be wrong]

£10 - Sim City Creator [2nd hand, RRP probably £35]

£8 - Geometry Wars Galaxies [2nd Hand, RRP ??? was this a budget release anyway?.... if not then £35 or £40]

I'm going to try to limit my recommendations to what I think are the essentials:

1. Wii Play
2. Wii Sports Resort (releases late July)
3. Mario Kart Wii
4. Metroid Prime Trilogy
5. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
6. Punch-Out!!
7. The Conduit (releases next week in NA)
8. World of Goo (WiiWare)

I'd say those games are the essentials for Wii, I had never played Punch-Out!! before but it's a very very well put together game that really gives a challenge and does give you an old school type vibe. It's awesome.

I'd also recommend the following in no particular order:

- Grand Slam Tennis
- Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10
- Super Smash Bros. Brawl
- Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition (If you haven't played RE4 before it's an essential)
- MadWorld
- House of the Dead: Overkill
- Super Paper Mario
- Mario Strikers Charged
- Call of Duty: World at War

Soon to be released recommendations:

- New Super Mario Bros. Wii
- Wii Fit Plus
- Red Steel 2
- Rabbids Go Home
- Dead Space: Extraction
- Mario and Sonic at the Winter Olympics

Next year:

- No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle
- Super Mario Galaxy 2
- Metroid: Other M

There.. Plenty of titles to choose from :)

Good!! Now, you have entered into a larger world!

MY ZELDA COLLECTION

I'm not thinking of using wiiware soon
and you talk about metroid trilogy...is it the remakes of old metroid games?
It can be great if they are...because I didn't play any of them
