People claim oot to be the 2nd best in the series can anyone confirm this?

New people getting into the Legend of Zelda series will say that Majora's Mask or The Wind Waker are better than Ocarina of Time, but that's just non-sense. People saying that A Link to the Past tops OOT... well, they're almost right to be honest, but ALTTP didn't have as much impact as OOT did for its time.

Majora's Mask is built on the same engine as OOT, and it barely brought anything new. It was more annoying than anything to be honest (especially when trying to get 100% in the game. Some of the worst design decisions I've ever seen). The Wind Waker was good, but there are some flaws in the gameplay (like a last minute fetch quest and other things), which OOT don't have at all.

Oh man, it hurts to try finding bad things to say about Zelda games...! @_@

Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...

Barely brought anything new?  MM is the most original and creative Zelda that I have ever played.

You can play as a Deku Scrub, a Goron, or a Zora.  Other masks also modify Link, like the Bunny Hood, which makes him run faster.  The people in the game actually have a life, and go about their day whether you interact with them or not.  Most other games the NPCs just stand around waiting for you to talk to them.  The three day mechanic that allows this very detailed world is also quite new.

I would definitely agree that OoT has had a much bigger influence on gaming, but to say that MM barely did anything new is just wrong.

I agree with Phrancheyez for both things.

1: megaman should be perma banned, and

2. there is no best game of all time (i just have favorites, it doesnt mean that they are the best to everyone)

Wow neither of the games were the best for me, or even close for that matter. BTW OoT isn't even near the top in terms of Zelda games for me. Majora's Mask and A link to the past are much much better imo.

MGS4? Are you people serious? I didn't even want to finish the game, gave it back to my buddy before I was done. MGS4 isn't even the best game this gen. SMG is.

I would say OoT deserves it. Certainly when speaking only for myself it will always be the greatest game of all time. However I recently got SSBB so who knows whether it will hold on to that accolade.

i think that people shouldn't try to compare games straight up because obviously, new ideas and newer games surpass older games. ocarina is still the greatest game of all time for it's time. it's like comparing new movies to old movies. you have to go based on their impact at the time of release. mgs 4 is good, but i say it should belong somewhere in the top 20.
