Forums - Sales Discussion - Square Enix: Star Ocean PSP remakes sold well in Europe, high hopes for SO4

Testament to the new RPG's significance; we find ourselves in London's Greenwich, Square Enix marketing boss Larry Sparks talking up the pedigree behind tri-Ace's series, which began life on the Famicom back in 1996. Sparks tells us that the PSP releases did well in Europe last year, and a graphically lavish debut 'exclusively' on Microsoft's console should see the role-player soaring to new levels across the continent.

They're gonna be disapointed ... But well, I understand them, SO4 bombed hard in the us so they NEED good european sales!

I hope SO4 fails for them. Serves them right after their whole "we are a multiplatform developer" speech followed by "Oh, SO4 is exclusive"

LOL...now now don't be like that

OT: I HOPE THEY FUKIN DIE!!!!(JKZ) well I sure do hope It gets released in EU would generate more $$ for them.

Is there any need to hate Square Enix?

I know they:

1. Went back on their own words regarding FF XIII exclusivity

2. Went back on their own words regarding "fair" and "multiplatform"

3. Planned to delay FF XIII PS3 for US release if the 360 version is not completed in time

But really, is there any reason to hate them so much??

sarcasm =)

My PS3 started ejecting any SquareEnix games I put in it lately.

Thankfully It still takes SquareSoft and Enix games.

My Ps3 is the jealous type :P

To Square Enix,

Prepare to be disappointed by the sales. Every JRPG has sold worse in Europe than in the US, including Chrono Trigger and Persona 4. Heck, lack of Europe sales numbers for the PSP remakes indicate that they've sold really bad.

With such logic, you also hope Final Fantasy Versus 13 and Dragon Quest X fails too.

Hmm.

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.

psp users are not the same as 360 users.. most of psp users are ps3 users aswell.. and rpg fans..

We dont have DQIV and V numbers in Europe and they sold well there. Much better than in North America. While we have numbers for Persona 4 which has completely bombed there.

I dont think that lack of Europe numbers for some games has anything to do with them being low.
