"January 2009 update: After rumors circulating on the internet, Rockstar confirmed that there would be no GTA5 in 2009. While most companies don’t respond to rumors, Rockstar probably thought it would damage sales of their two upcoming GTA4 downloadable episodes (the 1st in February, the 2nd in October), which they are still working on. As a result 2010 is looking more logical for GTA5."

Location

There's no information that i've found on the location of GTA 4 but here are the historical locations, i've tried to get them in order but I might be wrong

Grand Theft Auto 1

Liberty City

London

Grand Theft Auto 3

Vice City

San Andreas

Chinatown

Grand Theft Auto 4

Liberty City

Based on the historical information , GTA games are usualy based in urban and relativley built up and wealthy locations which could rule out quite a few undeveloped countries s .... i'm guessing it could be Tokyo or London but it's really anyones guess.

Exclusivity

I think it'll be multiplatform unless Rockstar really feel they can't work with the DVD anymore , of course money talks more than specifications do.

Features

I thik GTA 5 will be more arcadey than GTA 4 was , I think it'll return back to it's roots with parachutes , purchasable homes , less gritty and dark possibly . Alot of the best things about san andreas where either messed up ( phone calls every 5 FRIGGIN MINUTES , I don't wanna date ffs or get killed every time I crash my bike ).

Sales

If Rockstar fails to innovate I think their sales will fall short of GTA 4's which is at 12.19m ( but could very well end up at 13.5-14.5 or possibly even more , i'm not sure how well this GTA's legs will be) one thing I think might be certain is that it'll never meet San andreas's 19.65 M , it apears that the GTA franchise will continue to decline without something new and refreshing added into the mix , i'm guessing it'll do 7-9 million lifetime if things continue as they have done.

Any other hunches , ideas , requests you might have for GTA 5 guys ?

I'd of course like to see my hometown Chicago. Who wouldn't want to play in a virtual version of their city. That's one thing I liked about True Crime. They featured LA and New York's Mahattan burough. I was really hoping to see Chicago. If the game said I needed to go to a certain location at such and such intersection, no need to look at a map. It would've been fun just cruising around too. And for a release date, I seriously doubt that they had any chance or intention of releasing GTA5 in 2009 after just releasing 4 this last year. That I know of, they haven't made a sequel for consoles one year after the previous. Although I'm not sure about 1&2. It takes so long now to make games for the HD consoles and it seemed like it took forever to make GTA4, I don't see how they could've gotten 5 out so soon unless they had already been working on it alongside 4.

GTA1 had 3 locations:

Liberty City, Vice City and San Andreas.

As they have gone back to LC for GTA4.. I don't see why they wouldn't go to one of the others again

I don't care where they set it as long as it gos back to being a GTA game in the vein of San Andreas/Vice City. GTA IV was a horrid mess of a game. If anyone wants to know how to make a good game just do the opposite of what is done in GTA IV.

They can't use a real city. They'd get in massive trouble.

My bet is Vice City. They have a nice cycle going on.

PS360, of course. Same day release. No Wii version, but the Wii will get a different GTA game.

Less gritty and dark, improved driving controls, back to its roots back in San Andreas.

And the Getaway.. though the later was only central London, so did not feature my house, which is one of the main reasons I want the Getaway 3, so they will expand their version of London.

Anyway, when I say a city, I mean the GTA interperation, so NYC=LC

I want a game set in San Andreas, South East England (London and rural areas) and Tokyo (and rural areas). What I want is more variety, and a range of different cultures. Of course I want planes to return to the game, and more guns, and just a more arcadey GTA. They should keep the phone, but remove the friends features, though actually Packie's bomb was a great use for one mission, just plant it on the escape car before you enter the building, to avoid the chase. Oh, and more diversity of missions, and a quicker start, IV only really got going once you got to Algonquin

As for sales, I expect GTA IV to reach 15m sales, and I would expect V to get to a similar number if on the same platforms, which I think is nearly inevitable.
