That's being specific!

About 22 years.

Before I got my NES, the first system I had any time really playing was my parents' Odyssey 2, which they hadn't used since the 70s. It was awesome.

Turmoil for Atari was my first game.
I believe that was 23 years ago

I know I got an Atari 2600 for my 7th birthday back in '87. I think we may have had a used one the broke before that, but I can't remember.

Since about 1996 maybe.

Okay... I have to admit you stumped me on this one.  I'm very familiar with the Atari 2600, ColecoVision, Intellivision, etc. (I was a teenager in the 70's and in my 20's in the 80's), but I've NEVER heard of this one.  Were these sold in the US?

@ crumas2

I think the Phillips Videopac G7000 was the British equivalent of the Magnavox Odyssey 2.

This system was a lesser-known competitor to Atari, and had some pretty fun games despite the lack of 3rd party support ... though many of them were knock-offs (K.C. Munchkin was a Pac-Man ripoff).

One of the coolest things about the system was that many of the games had a level-design mode. I used to make a KC Munchkin stage where the ghosts are all trapped. You know, just to torture them.

Pro tip: If you pulled a cartridge out with the power on, and then quickly put another cartridge in, you could sometimes get weird effects. There was a spelling game that I swapped with a racing game, and then you could drive your car around the letters of the spelling game. Weird, no?
