Not the rest of the world, cricket is popular mostly in old british colony nations. It's not popular here in Ireland or most of Europe etc.

I think.

Every single major cricket nation was a British Colony (then again 1/4 of the world was ruled by Britain in 1919)

The only problem with cricket, is when you tell people that the true version of the game takes 5 days, with tea breaks, and that can end in a draw... but it is still a great sport to play and watch

Hopefully they will do this right. I am not sure how the balance board support will work, I assume you will stand back of the board, and if you stay there, then you will play of the back foot, and if you take a step forward you will play forward, but I am not sure that is precise enough. Also is the Wiimote sensitive enough to make it work properly. My concern comes from the fact that I have played Wii tennis, and it did not really feel anything like playing proper tennis, and hopefully I would not get that same feeling if I played Wii cricket

Peter Moores has said that the Rugby and Cricket franchises are not dead, in an interview with OPM UK, so I would bet they are coming to HD consoles, which is great news for me! I do have a surprising love for cricket games

I would HAVE to assume that they will be implementing WM+. Doing otherwise would not make sense for a 'proper' cricket game

I certainly hope so, if they do I might have to find a way to play this game on Wii (or I could just play cricket at school then...)

Cricket... is that like Polo, only sans horses?

Sorry <-- American

I can't see this one going over well in the states.  Posters from the rest of the world seem kinda excited though, eh?

It is not at all like polo, just check wiki, but before you get started, as I have said before, the proper version of the game takes 5 days (about 6 hours play per day)

I don't think cricket titles are designed to appeal to americans, were Cricket 07 or BLIC 2007 ever released in the states

Oh, and this game will come out in June, it will be Ashes time!!!!! {England are still going to lose...}

The closet sport to cricket is baseball..........and rounders if u know it.

@munkeh

The english team is in a sad state right now more many reasons i'm sure you know....the latest of  course 51 all out

Major cricketing countries/regions:
Australia
England
West Indies
India
Pakistan
Sri Lanka
South Africa
Zimbabwe
Bangladesh
New Zealand

Any country/region that attempt to enter into world cricket gets creamed and never really makes it.

It won't sell too good in the US, that's for sure.

And they were all British colonies

Cricket is great, i watch all types, 1 day internationals, 20/20 and test matches

Okay, this NEEDS to have MotionPlus support, or it will probably just end up like NBA Live on Wii (terrible).

Unfortunately, I really don't think it will, chances are like 1 percent.

And it might not come to Wii at all, pretty good chance it will be HD exclusive, and/or not release in North America.

I need this game, though. I need it.

# of games above 75 on Metacritic (including downloadable):

360: 241     DS: 144

PS3: 152     PSP: 126
