Forums - Gaming Discussion - FPS haters due to dual analog control!

I'm guessing that no dual analog fan would argue that DA is better than M/KB for RTSs, right?

Command and Conquer N64 handled well but it was not as accurate or fast as a mouse, agree?

RTS and FPS are essentially the same control scheme. Point/aim and click/shoot.

Mouse and the Wii-mote IR are perfect for pointing and clicking, dual analog isn't.

That's why we use a mouse with our PCs and not a joystick.

So does that mean adventure games like monkey island have the same control scheme as rts/fps because they are point and click?

Yes, that's right in regards to mouse and IR. That's why your unlikely to see World of Goo or Zak n Wiki (-motion) on the PS3/360.

Nov 2016 - NES outsells PS1 (JP)

Don't Play Stationary 4 ever. Switch!

I agree with Pyro as Bill, but I honestly don't see this thread going anywhere but tits up, there's too many Wii haters out here.

Wii controls arent as fast paced and intuitive for FPS like Dual Analog & M&KB.

WHAT? You gotta be kidding. If they aren't as fast paced or as intuitive it would make sense to us them for FPS. But I know I can shoot far more people in less time with the wii mote than with dual analogs.

All i can say about the conduit is that its graphics are crap. And its funny how everybody love the controls of the game, while nobody has played it. I got a Wii but my imagination cant go that far..

At the end of the day Dual Analoge controls all the way!! + Great Graphics + Great Physics + Storyline + Multiplayer make a great game (how you control a game its not so important as long as you got no problem moving your character and no camera problems)

well, as a PC gamer, there is very little that dual analog can offer me as far as FPS goes(HD consoles have inferior control, graphics, physics, and we don't pay for XBL on PC lawl) and the closest thing is actually a wiimote because it acts like a mouse in many ways. of course, the argument would be close to HD vs Wii when you do PC vs HD so it's always a moot point and pointless in the end. Really though, no matter how good you are with dual analog, you can't turn and look the same way compared to a mouse setup, the reaction time difference is too big.

My point is that if the controls are the only redeeming value, that doesn't say much for the game itself.

The controls are the only redeeming value of what game?

What does this have to do with controls?
