Forums - Gaming Discussion - BLAME ON SONY: mature games free to childrens, and parents don't know...

I was in an eletronic shop last week...

it's called Mediaworld.

lot of tv pc and obviusly games...

normal...

there also some demo station of x360,wii,ps3

normal...

wii station was turned off due low battaries in wiimotes...

normal also this...Nintendo Of Italy never changes batteries...

(I don't know in other countries but here we are third world of gaming)

ps3 demo station has a game in free play...

ninja gaiden ...

do you know PEGI???

it's a sort of authority by developer/dealer themself to rate games in europe...

ninja gaiden for ps3 is rated 18+

the abnormal is that nowhere in the demo station there is a mention of it!!!!!!

there was a father and his 8/10 years son.

i said: "what if i say to you that this game is rated 18+??"

he said:"noway it's free to play, for sure it's for children too"

then i said:" so look here ..."

i take a ninja gaiden copy from a shelf and show him...

he suddenly stop his son to play and thank me...

I THINK THAT A FATHER HAS THE RIGHT TO KNOW THAT HIS SON IS PLAYING A GAME RATED BY A DEVELOPER/DEALER AUTHORITY 18+!!!

BLAME ON SONY!!!...

AND TO SHOPS LIKE MEDIAWORLD !!!!

it's not a simple moral matter...

respect rating of games would help next time media will attack videogames world because of a stupid violent game...

when sony make a free play for a game rated 18+ it's making the worst to gamers world.

and shops like Mediaworld should make parents know what kinds of games their children are playing at demo stations.

Calm down Ninja Gaiden is a 15+ and its far from Sony's fault because they dont control this. Its partly PEGI's fault for not checking that the game WASNT being used in the demo station but mostly the stores fault so why are you blaming Sony its completly out of their control.

End of 2014 Hardware Predictions (03/03/14)

PlayStation 4: 12-15million

Xbox One: 7-10 million

Wii U: 8-9 million (Changed 01/04/2014 from 7-9 --> 8-9 million)

blame sony???

the game says rated M, during the intro.

blame the store, it's their display. and also parents should know, no excuses. bullshit. take responsibility.

it's also sony's fault that a kid stabbed a nurse, right?

PS3 is one of Devil's devices... Sony clearly leads mankind to selfdestruction...

Wouldn't this be up to the shop?

I've played Halo 2 on an Xbox counter before (in a toys r us), and Call of Duty 2 on a 360 before (GAME).

Neither of those games should be on display.

There is something that confuses me about ratings: parents ignore the ratings on games much more than parents ignore the ratings on movies. However, these parents are always complaining about games like GTA, and letting movies like SAW just go past freely.

You all cry when any one says this place is bias. But just look at How fucking stupid the sony hate threads on here are.

Why post for no real reason an anti-Sony rant?

Regards your nick - Mitsuhide because of Oda's slayer - Akechi Mitsuhide? This guy isn't very popular...

@ALKO,

Same in france, with anothet shop and a NGS demo.

but, sincerely, who cares PEGI ?

Just look at GTA :

mature rated game ==> al the kid want to play it...

Time to Work !

Mitsuhide it is rated PEGI 18+ according to - uk.playstation.com

Just to defend the original poster, it is true that it's not right that they don't clearly mark it as such in the display. Yes the game itself has the rating, and it flashes across the screen before the game starts but there's no other red flags and a parent shopping is not gonna sit there and wait for the display video to reset to see the rating of the game being played in the display.

I wouldn't blame it on sony completley or the store more like a minor combo of both, Eidos and various other things. It's not that terrible, but it isn't good some children can handle such content and some cannot.

Edit: Like I said some people can handle mature content at lower ages and some need more time but regardless at 18 you're legal and can decide for yourself. PEGI ESRB etc they're not strict laws, they're guidelines for parents, yes some games cannot be sold to minors because of their rating but that's to protect the minor(so they say). If a legal guardian goes in with them, they will let the kid buy it, pay for it and carry it off no problems.

The rating doesn't make it illegal it just is a measure to try to protect those that can't handle certain things.
