vizunary said: scorptile said: ok sony fanboys that think wii sales are droppin off beginning next year. if it is supply contraint right now that means there are alot more people wanting the wii. plus i think sony fanboys are dillusional right now as nintendo fans were with the gamecube vs the ps2. but after the second holiday season ninty fans realized the gamecube was not goin to be much. and if the "big" games for the ps3 doesnt come out till next year which is the worst thing to happen ill tell you why. its the big games that sells systems. the faster they get out the faster the system sells. hence wii sales. at launch zelda was huge. that brought sales. now every other month is a semi big game release till the next big three at the end of the year. xbox360 is doint he same big games for the hoidays. where is the ps3's big games? oh that is right next year. so when these big games jump from being ps3 to wii or xbox360 sony will realize oh wait maybe we shouldnt have made the ps3 500 and 600 dollars. granted the psone was ont eh same path but the difference is this ps3 you need an HDTV to see all of its "beautiful" graphics. and guess what NO ONE CARES except sony fanboys. if you say oh your just a ninty fanboy well if you like to play WOW, CS, madden on the pc etc etc etc then hhmmm i dont think so. im a gamer and a family man. this is reality not fiction and family is the reason why the wii is a success |
So fast to jump at Sony fanboys when it is blatantly obvious your nothing more than a wiiboy. Sorry, but Wii's are no longer supply constrained, I could go get one at any point I choose at my local Gamestop, EB, or Walmart. Onine they are even more abundant. Your a "family man"? I truly figured you were a child, hopefully at least you were just angry and do not teach your children to act this way, it's despicable. BTW, wasn't Moore just canned :p |
I'm not at all defending his post, Vizunary -- I agree, he's a fanatic and deserves to be shot down -- but the Wii is definitely still supply constrained. I can tell you with absolute certainty that every Toys R Us in Saint Louis is sold out of Wiis, and given that I get 10-20 requests a day for Wiis, I would guess that everyone else is, too (they say things like "Gosh, I can't find one anywhere!" or "How can I get one of these things?"). Even look at Amazon: they're sold out, and unlike PS3s, they're not even taking preorders. Look at this page:

First, notice that the Wii has moved back up to number two, and second, notice that it says "See all buying options" instead of "add to cart," like everything else does, including the PS3. That's because the Wii is not only sold out, but so high in demand they aren't taking preorders! Also, look at the fact that "used" Wiis are selling for almost four hundred dollars!

The Wii is at 10 percent availability, which is 1 percent lower than it was last time I looked... in March. Perhaps it's not constrained where you are, but it absolutely, positively is in most parts of the country, as you can plainly see. I do want to emphasize again, however, that "scorptile" was deliberately inflammatory and is a fanboy. I'm not taking away from that.
