Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Do you try to unlock every achievement or do you just play the game?

Pretty much the same.

I like going for achievements, but I don't get obsessed about it. I think they can open up more aspects of the game you wouldn't have tried otherwise and force you to get better at it. Right now I'm running through Madden 09 achievements and one makes you play as the Dolphins. Normally I wouldn't touch the team with a ten yard pole, but I played a very enjoyable game with them trying to adjust my playing style to get 6 rushing TDs.

I beat the game and try to get achevements at the same time there fun to get.

@Onyxmeth

I got 1000/1000 on that game....hehe :P

If it looks as though it is actually feasible to unlock all of the achievements for a specific game, and I am enjoying the game enough, I will try and go for all 1k. A few examples that I have done this on are Call of Duty 2, Need for Speed Most Wanted, Tomb Raider: Legend, Oblivion, and Bioshock.

Just kiss the tip.

I just play the game, I like doing everything my way and achievements usually get in the way of that. Plus, it is very amusing getting an achievement when you are not actively searching for it.
