If you want to talk about its strongest genre this gen it will be fighters, not sports.

You must be optimistic to believe that R2 or KZ2 will win the shooter war for the PS3. Check metacritic for Gears 1's review score.

Speaking of Metacritic, I remember this study a few months ago that compared top games in each genre, and 360 won nearly ever category.

On gamerankings atm:

360 has 14 games over 90 percent, and 96 games over 80 percent.

PS3 has 5 games over 90 percent, and 47 games over 80 percent.

I don't like to use these sites, but since you've stated your opinion as fact, I have to have some sort of quantifable evidence to retort. Since I can't find the metacritic analysis I was looking for, with the gold and silver rewards for each genre, that will have to suffice. You deserve this:

... R u serious? MY GOD, I like Sony (just as much) as the next guy, but c'mon, people that make threads like this are embarrassing themselves and Sony fans. U DO know that u are arguing an opinion, and that is just borderline retarded, u know wat, I take that back cuz I'm pretty sure retarded people wouldn't argue with opinions. The only, ONLY category I can agree with u is the sports games because PS3 get's the multi plats from EA and 2k and they get their own studio's sports games which tips it in their favor.

Their fighter titles will be much stronger than their sports titles. I've played the exclusives NBA 09 title for the PS3 and it has more cracks in it than the NBA live franchise.

I guess that that is wat this gen is plagued by, Sony fans making a bunch of reassurance topics in EVERY gaming forum (that i've been to).

Oh, don't get me wrong, the Sony made NBA 09 and MLB 09 are horrible compared to the best (Nba 2k's) but I know a bunch of people that love them. I was just saying that because it's just more games in that genre. For example, if 360 gets (random number) 5 sports games per year, and Sony gets 7, Sony wins that genre because it's getting more, and for those like my friends that actually like their sports game (which is ludicrous to me), then those 2 extra games are important to them.
