Forums - Sony Discussion - Was Killzone for the PS2 a good game or bad?

Its pretty solid .. not the best but I adore the artstyle :) If you can find it for cheap ( and yes its cheap anywhere ) go for it ;)

But it was told that the game was plagued by many technical issues. I hate playing games that was plagued by technical issues. Regardless if the game was $1.50. I still would not play it.

Killzone = mediocre. Red Faction 1/2 are much more deserving of your time

@madskillz: I really liked project snowblind, though the MP was pretty unbalanced.

If you want to know the story, just Wiki it.
That's why I did, and I'm pretty sure I'm not prepared for Killzone 2 LOL

360 IS OPERATIONAL AFTER 37 DAYS!

Speaking as a previous player of it. Don't buy it.

I mean, at 12 bucks, it's a steal, and you'll probably get more enjoyment out of it than a movie, so in terms of it being a good buy (time wise), then yeah, but as a game, it's horrible.

So many graphical problems, glitches, shitty A.I. etc.

Thank G-d Killzone 2 is looking to fix all of those things and more ^_^

Go to youtube to see the many problems with the game.

The PSP version titled Killzone: Liberation is awesome and worth owning!!

But madskillz I know not to pick that game up. I know Black is worth owning. I'm expecting to buy Black anyway it was on my list of games to buy for the PS2/Xbox.

Black got a 8.7 over at IGN. So its worth the play time and admission.

Black is tons-o-fun. You'll love that one. Are you into shooters on your Wii? There's a rail shooter - Ghost Squad. It's just like the arcade - it's fun, but gets boring fast. Worth a rent.

Have you tried Time Crisis on the PS3 yet? The arcade controllers are sweet, but haven't tried it yet on the PS3 (I let a friend of mine review it).

I actually found it pretty mediocre. A but like Haze: it was enjoyable and fun, but nothing really stood out and it was never really attention-grabbing. To me, it was a run-of-the-mill, average FPS with only a few memorable moments.

KZ was extremely mediocre IMO.

I picked up a used copy at GS for I think it was less than $10, played it for about an hour with the idea in mind of learning the back story for the KZ universe in anticipation of KZ2, and was put off by the rail-like and uninspired design of the game.

I actually took the game back to GS since they have a one week policy on returns for old games and that is the first time I've ever done that. I didn't want it in my collection and have no intention of ever playing the game again.

Of course in all fairness, I didn't play the entire game, but... when finishing a game feels like more of a chore to play than entertainment, that's when it's time to put down the controller.

That being said, I do plan on picking up the PSP game before KZ2 comes out.
