Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Wii: No kidding ourselves, what are you really looking forward to getting.

Little King Story: Concept and art style, the mix of AC+Pikmin+SimCity is very atractive to me, and I really like RTS games...

The Conduit: One dev with intentions of showing good graphics+good game on the Wii, and I like shooters...

Mushroom Men: Stragen concept, but I like it and I want to see more adventure games on Wii...

Fragile: Just lookig at those screensshots, and I want another of those games (You alone, with just a lamp and stick)...

Wiifit+WiiSports-Resort:Mostly for the interaction with more people, Wii sports is a success between my friends and I want to expand the game avaliables...

The rest (No less important) is MK:Wii, Pikmin 3, and possible games like Star Fox or Kid Ikarus...

wii sports resort: 1:1 controls, baby! conduit: wii is best console for fps (never could stand analog sticks for fps) so good to finally get an fps that could be the whole package, not just good controls wario shake: i love me some 2d platforming action snowboarding/skate it: hope at least one of these balance board games is good (or another that we don't know about yet) tennis game using 1:1: I want a tennis sim (or table tennis) that uses MotionPlus to be a full sim, meaning you miss shots often if u can't play tennis IRL; full control over placement and spin/slice

Bets:Missed by 420k I bet leo-j vg$500 that wii will sell 31 million by 7/31/08.  Sorry, I don't think he has enough vg$ to make it with all of u that wish you could. Hit, with room to spare I bet kingofwale a 1-week ban that wii Americas ltd sales>360 Americas ltd sales as of the numbers for week ending 7/05/08 (using vgchartz homepage #s)

Predictions:

Wii will sell 18-20mil by 12/31/07  CHECKWii will sell 45mil+ WW by 12/31/08Wii will surpass PS2 sales WW by 11/17/11 (5yr anniversary)Wii Fit will hit 12mil sales in 2009MKWii+SSBB+Wii Fit+SMG > 50 mil sales by 2010 > gta4+mgs+gt5+ff13+haze+lbp

1) Mushroom Men: The Spore Wars. The developers listed Abe's Oddysee as their main design influence, and that's all I need to know to be hyped about this title.

2) Fatal Frame IV. Honestly, I'm not even through the first game yet, but I'm loving it so far.

3) Oboro Muramasa Yotuden. So long as it's just Odin Sphere minus horrid framerate drops, it'll be a day-one buy for me.

4) Eternity's Child. Lovely art style, and only five bucks.

5) Deadly Creatures. I'm very curious to see how this game works out, in the sense that it seems like an intriguing experiment in perspective. That, and ever since seeing Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, I've always wanted to play a game as a scorpion.

Edit: And as a bonus, those are all third-party games. =P

"'Casual games' are something the 'Game Industry' invented to explain away the Wii success instead of actually listening or looking at what Nintendo did. There is no 'casual strategy' from Nintendo. 'Accessible strategy', yes, but ‘casual gamers’ is just the 'Game Industry''s polite way of saying what they feel: 'retarded gamers'."

Samba De Amigo: a supposely "casual" game. It is certainly not "casuals" who managed to get the only few copies of the Dreamcast version shipped in Europe. Only 500 games were shipped here in France, and unfortunately I didn't manage to get one (I wasn't aware of the release date, and was too late to get it). So, I'm very excited about a new version being released on the Wii and the last preview suggest the controls work very well.

Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World: I really enjoyed the first Tales of Symphonia, played it 3 times to complete all the item/monster/recipe/... lists.

Mega Man 9: Mega Man is a well-known series I've never played. I love the idea of going retro for this new one. It also makes me want to get Mega Man and Mega Man 2 on the VC.

Dead Rising: Basically the only game (along with Metal Gear Solid 4) that interests me currently out on the HD consoles. I'm a fan of zombies, the original Dawn of the Dead film,...

Bomberman: best multiplayer game ever. I didn't really care for the console versions from the 2 last generations, and I'm hoping this one turns out being as good as the ones I loved on SNES.

Runners up :

Animal Crossing: City Folk: I've never played an Animal Crossing game before, and since it seems to be a major franchise I feel like I'm missing out.

Wii Sports Resort: Wii Sport was great fun. I'm hoping the sequel will be as good/better. And the 1:1 add-on seems quite interesting.

Wario Land: The Shake Dimension: I love 2D plateforming and can't wait to play a new, recent 2D plateformer. I didn't get Wario Land 2-3-4 and should probably get and play them beforehand (if I find the time)

de Blob: looks nice. Although the game is probably very different, the concept kinda reminds of Jet Set Radio.

Pikmin: I really loved Pikmin on the Gamecube, especially the first game.

Project Zero IV (Fatal Frame IV): I'm fond of survivor horror games, so I'm interested in this. I should try to get the first three games too, but since the stories are not related, I can wait for number IV and see if I like it.

I'm going to take time to read these carefully, and come up with some conclusion. What do you guys get from this?

I get that Tenchu 4 is going to bomb in the west. T_T

Animal Crossing: City Folk- I love AC and now with online completely better, and in console form, I think it will make the holidays very nice for me.

Mad World: Art and gore in the same title. Awesome.

Final Fantasy CC: TCB: The first was ok. I hated the GC-GBA thing, but this one looks a lot better. I hope they dont let me down.

Conduit: I wanna see how the online and wiimote controls will pan out.

Disaster: DoC: Wanna see what Nintendo does with something more mature.

I do hope that with the Wii, gaming returns to the times were games had immersing gameplay (not storylines, but games that catches you and don't let you go) without complicated inputs and more creativity on them. I always hated that games, like FPS, makes you walk with a stick and turn with the others, or that games like Splinter Cell uses every god damn button even if is unnecesary.

Game designers had become lazy because of the graphics and they don't think much enough. I always thought that in gaming, the simpler the better and Wii seems to have that philosophy.

I also hope that gaming stops being a "cult" or something and becomes something as normal as the TV or going to the movies: something that everybody, not matter his age or gender can enjoy and play.

I understand that many people is confused, including companies, but I do hope they will start doing them sooner or later.

and 5 games? Ok..

Megaman 9 - because I miss playing a REAL megaman game and proves what I just said before

The conduit - I am not a big fan of FPS because they became complicated to play and boring. But I do hope that this game turns out good, with simple controls and a more arcade-like gameplay, and of course that companies start to lost their "fear" for this kind of games on the Wii

Fatal Frame 4 - I love horror games and this game seems to have what I like on said kind of games: suspense and immersive gameplay

Castlevania Judgment - I dunno, what I saw didn't drove me wild but I thought it was fun *shrugs*

Steet Fighter 4 - Yeah I know but I think that this games has more chances to coming to Wii than Resident Evil 5. Who knows.

also, Dead rising althoug I dunno if is any good or not

I have a few things that I am really looking forward to on the Wii.

First and foremost, I would like to state that I am quite happy with the 3rd party support on the Wii recently. I never thought I would make that statement, but it is true. Just take a look at some of the games people are looking forward to on this thread.

Now, on to my most wanted:

Wario Land: Shake - I've just recently seen some video footage of this game, and it looks amazing. Gorgeous 2D graphics, awesome sound, and what looks to be like good ol' old school platforming. What more can you ask for right?

The Conduit - I'm sure everyone has already stated the virtues of this game and what it means to the hardcore Nintendo faithful. I just hope it isn't a letdown like *shivers* Geist.

MadWorld - Platinum Games. The same creative minds behind Okami and Viewtiful Joe. Gameplay reminiscent of No More Heroes. Imaginative art style. Count me in.

Fatal Frame IV - You know, I have never played a Fatal Frame title, but from the looks of this one, consider my interest perked. Plus, I love Suda 51.

Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop - I have played the 360 version to death, and i loved it (except for the crazy amount of time you have to put in to get all of the achievements). I want to play this just to see how different it is compared to its HD counterpart. Controls, graphics, content... it'll all be interesting to see the differences.

By the way, I could go on with this least easily, but I am going to follow thread makers rules here and keep it to 5 titles........................

Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World.... sorry

Just kiss the tip.

wario land shake: i love 2d platformers
de blob: i just like its look, looks really fun
little king story: what can i say i love these kind of games
pikmin 3: sequel to my 2nd favorite gamecube game
madworld: just looks effing awesome
megaman 9:well all i can say is megaman>>>>>>all

I like all those games people mention here.
