Wario Land: Shake It!

Reason: Have you seen this game? It looks like SO much fun! It looks like a modern version of the gold old 2d platformers of yesteryear. This is a game to keep an eye on.

Tales of Symphonia 2: Dawn of the New World

I fell in love with Tales of Symphonia, so naturally I'm excited about a direct sequel. EU still hasn't gotten a release date though, so that sucks. If this game is even a fifth as cool as Tales of Symphonia was, then bravo.

Castlevania Judgment

A lot of people are being very cold towards this game, and I honestly can't see why. I think it looks like lots of fun for anyone who enjoys the Castlevania-serier, perhaps others as well. Although Maria's design is pretty butchered, they pulled Simon and Dracula off really well. As long as this game has variety between it's characters, I know I'm going to have a lot of fun with it.

Wii Sports Resort

Although I must admit that Nintendo's E3 showing was very lackluster, this game still caught my eye. It's nothing I'm going to sit around and hype to death, but I'll definitely pick it up when it comes along. It looks like lots of fun.

Fragile

Ever since I first saw the homepage of this game, like, 6 months ago, I've been captivated by it's music and the overall atmosphere of the game. Even though we don't have a solid release date yet, this is without a doubt the game I'm looking forward to the most on the Nintendo Wii right now. I just hope it gets a EU release.

Im unsure about SSBB. I loved the original, but I lack time to play my Wii as it is. But then everyone says its AWESOME. But I'm a mainly offline gamer, and apparently this title isn't that suited to offline.

I've had it since early February(got a Japanese wii just so I could get the japanese version) and haven't played it online once. It's still one of the best games I've ever played. As long as you have atleast one friend who might want to take a swing at it with you, it's one of the best purchases you can make.

OK well I'm I've been keeping a list of Wii games I want for a while now so I'm not going to parse it down, but I will still give you my thoughts on each game and why I'm interested in it.

Star Wars: Force Unleashed - I don't need to say much here, it is a Star Wars game!  Seriously though I think everyone understands why this is a good game, but the reason the Wii version is (imo) going to be the definitive version is that not only do you get the extra 5 levels of gameplay and thus 5 more levels of story you also get the Wii-mote Jedi Duels...need I say more?  Missing out on the physics engine is minor compared to those things..at least for my money anyways.

Mushroom Men - OK so this is a fun new IP from Red Fly Studio, its basically an adventure platformer and frankly platformer [anything] is a game I'm interested in.  But the game also has a charming story involving mutant mushrooms and rabid rabbits giving it an awesome comedic edge to boot.  Add to all of this an item combination system that sounds pretty sweet even if it isn't totally original.

Guitar Hero: World Tour - Another obvious purchase, but this time its obvious because its the only entry in the genre that is giving the Wii the full consideration it deserves.  Beyond that though the game is being developed down to the very last detail and allowing players far more customization than I would have ever dreamed of including.  But bigger than all of that is the inclusion of whats shaping up to be an amazing music editor allowing for a near infinite supply of new quality tunes to jam to.

ToS: Dawn of the New World - While I'm not yet fan of the "Tales Of" series I still love a good JRPG just as much as the next guy and everything I've seen of this game sounds good so far.  If you take a few minutes to read up on the battle system on Wikipedia I think you too might start to feel a bit of hype for the game.  I might actually even pick up a copy of the first one on Gamecube to catch up on the story but that will depend a lot on how much money I have and whether I can even find a copy.

Arc Rise Fantasia - Not a lot on this game quite yet but I know it is a turn based RPG and that is enough to pique my interest.  Add to that that the lead developer also worked on the original ToS and you have the makings of not only a great RPG but a great game.

de Blob - Just an interesting concept for a game all around.  I downloaded the original PC version and it was a blast, this new installment adds a whole new level of polish as well as some awesome platforming along with a story and a quirky musical score.  All in all the game is just appealing to me..not much to say beyond that.

Star Wars: Clone Wars - Again its a star wars game, but I've also heard tremendous things about the  Clone Wars TV series and the game itself is set to extend on that.  There is also a possibility this could see WMP support which would make it a must-buy for literally every self-respecting Star Wars Fan and Wii owner.

Deadly Creatures  - Another fantastic new IP designed around the creepy crawly adventures of a scorpion and a tarantula trying to survive in a "man's world".  The awesome game footage I've seen so far as done plenty to sell me on this game both from a gameplay perspective as well as a story perspective but it also boast some pretty fantastic visuals as well.

Spyborgs   - This is a game I'm not quite as sold on as the rest of them so far.  I really like the concept and love the fact that the game doesn't take itself seriously but I will want to see more before I commit to a purchase on this one.

Disaster: Day of Crisis - A hardcore Nintendo title by itself is going to get my attention but this game also has a great concept to boot.  I'd be lying if I said I'd seen enough on this game to know that I want to buy it but what I have seen so far tells me the game has the potential to be a major IP, especially if Nintendo plans to continually delay it until they perfect every aspect of it...which they will.

FF: CC: Chrystal Bearers - Oddly this title has very little information available yet is one of my most anticipated RPGs.  Definitely going to want to hear more about the combat and story of the game before I make a purchase but its being designed by a solid team and everything I've seen and heard sounds promising.

Sonic Unleashed  - Whats not to like here?  Its Sonic!  Seriously though a good ole fashion sonic game in 2.5d with a true return to the roots of the series is definitely something most older gamers will be interested in and I'm no exception.

Kid Icarus - Definitely a game that I will need to see more of before I make any hard choices but the dude has wings and that means there will most likely be some platforming! I love me some platforming so this game is on the watch list.

Pikmin 3  - While not dated and only quasi-officially announced this game is without a doubt one of my most anticipated titles.  This game is a pre-order and line up a week in advance if I have to type of game.  First day purchase doesn't do it justice..this is a first second purchase..and yes I know how lame that phrase is but GD it it conveys how much I love this series and I don't care!

The Conduit  - I'm not a huge fan of console shooters for a variety of reasons but the condiut appears to have addressed the largest reason and that is controls.  While other games like Metroid Prime 3 have done a good job with this I believe the conduit will do it far and away better than the rest.  The reason I say that is because the controls are extremely customizable allowing you to choose turning speed, the size of the dead zone on the side of the screen, etc...This means that each player can perfectly mold the controls to the tight feel that they desire..an ability PC gamers have had for a long time in shooters and is really hard to live without on the consoles.  Beyond the controls though the game has an intriguing story and their decision to add some adventure and puzzles into the mix is a solid one for a gamer like myself who, while I enjoy a good murder fest, also enjoys a shooter that is a bit more engaging.  It remains to be seen if conduit can live up all of the hype but I'm optimistic from what I've seen so far.

Other Notables: Fragile, Monster Hunter 3, Mad World, Fatal Frame IV, The SMG & Zelda Sequels, Monster Lab, and Wario Land. I don't want to make this too long =P

To Each Man, Responsibility

1. Fatal Frame IV: As a big fan of the original Resident Evil series I'm delighted that a horror game is made without loads of shooting, but plain old survival. The whole game looks amazing and I love the Ringu-style Japanese theme.

2. Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World: Sequel to one of the best RPG's ever. I love the real time battles of the series and if the story is half as deep and twisty as the original this will be a hell of a game.

3. Fragile: Ooh anathore Namco RPG. Everything about the game looks awesome. Theme and atmosphere come pretty close to horror. I hope the story is good.

4. De Blob: Very original, colourful platforming game.

5. Mega Man 9: Wow, am I glad that I get to play a totally new 2D Mega Man. 8-bit style is just perfect.

And (if sqrl does it so can I): The Conduit, Little King's Story, Mushroom Men, Oboro Muramasa Youtoden and Mad World

Ok, here's the deal:

Everytime we talk about what games we're looking forward to on Wii, we always list a bunch of games that any sane person knows will not be "top-notch" type games by any core/long-time gamers standards.

Let's face it, we are not getting the same number of traditional core titles.  We are getting a bunch of innovative things.  Retro games, new ways to play, etc.

As Wii owners what are you really looking forward to and why?

Rules:

This is not about listing, please post some thoughtful comments about what you are looking forward to and why.

List upto 5 games, no 30 game copy/pastes of release lists.

This is not the thread to talk about what you do not like.

I'll post my thoughts, later.  I do not want to influence opinion or cause everyone to argue my opinion.  I just want to you to post, read, and discuss with out causing everybody to focus on what I think.

Oh BTW, I disagree with the bolded parts, the thread isn't really about that though so I won't derail things, I just wanted to make it known that as a Wii gamer I reject this line of thinking.

To Each Man, Responsibility

Animal Crossing: City Folks - I have been a big fan of animal crossing and I bought wild world on the first day. I'm now all hype up for this! my most anticipated game of all time.

Fatal Frame IV - I want to try out a scary game on the wii and I seen videos and screenshots of this game and it got me really interested.

Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World - I'm playing the first one right now, to get ready for this one. The story is really interesting.

Fatal Frame IV - I liked Silent Hill and the old REs. I also like the mix of Japanese horror and myth

Oboro Murasama - looks very interesting, love Japanese style games

ToS2 - i liked the first, I like RPGs

Castlevania Judgment - once in a while, I need a good traditional 3d fighter - this is the best chance i have of getting one

1. Tenchu 4 - This is a big one for me. I love the stealth/action genre, and the Tenchu franchise is rivaled only by Thief in terms of hot, buttery stealthiness. With the developer of the first two (and best two) games back on board and Wii controls on offer, I'm going to be the trickiest little bastard I can be when this game finally gets localized in NA. All shall flee before my kitten minion, the harbinger of a swift and honourless death.

2. Fatal Frame 4 - I didn't use to be big on the horror/survival genre, but playing RE4 and then Eternal Darkness has given me a hunger for horror. The idea of trying to navigate a mansion full of malicious specters armed only with a flashlight and an antique camera should bring a sharp edge to the anxiety.

3. The Conduit - Wii needs a Halo (or put another way, Halo needs Wii controls), and this game looks to be the best bet. The developer is passionate, ambitious, and has demonstrated impressive progress over a period of a few months. They're taking a big risk by making this title without publisher backing, and risk is something that this industry needs more of. Sign me up.

4. Deadly Creatures - I love the premise of this game. Your avatar isn't human, in fact it's barely personified at all. You're a brutal invertebrate who's primary concern is surviving all the monsters which wish to eat you. Crawling around the environments looks like a blast, I just hope the combat and the boss fights deliver.

5. Little King Story - I admit I'm fuzzy on the details of how this game will play. I just know that I'm looking forward to having a joyful time with my subjects... and then working them like dogs! Expending their lives for the good of the kingdom! I've been cold on the RTS genre for a while, so I hope the imagination in this game gets me going.

In no particular order.

Monster Hunter 3 - The graphics looked amazing. Ive played some PSP but couldnt get over the though that this should be on console and its coming..

Madworld - Honestly is there anything to say about this gam??? The style the gore......MAN DARTS!

Fatal Frame 4 - Again nice graphics. A game centered around a flashlight and camera is perfect for the Wii. Its mature and will hopefully make me shit myself.

Fragile - Art looks badd ass. Its the second JRPG that actually catches my attentino unlike Tales Of Symphonia.

Arc Rise Fantasi - The first JRPG that really caught my attention. Its looks amazing and mature enough not a little kings story.

Other include Kid Icarus (whenever that comes) Guitar Hero:World Tour and either of the new sonic games.
