I dunno...I don't really care about Killzone...if it ends up looking really good, I'm sure it'll sell some PS3s, but I don't think it's going to be its savior or anything.

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

when is it getting released?

i'm be interested in seeing the kind of ad campaign sony puts together if it's that big of a deal. according to that guy, this game ALONE can make or break PS3 in the US!?

EDIT: 3 years development... that's gonna be like $75 mln budget?

the Wii is an epidemic.

Said to hit this year, some have it early 08!

Halo made the original xbox, A great Fps really can make a console.  Gears sure as hell did not hurt the 360 and Resistance is still PS3s best game (8 months later) i highly doubt it can break it long term but a killzone dud would be painfull for a few months.

All flaming aside.

Agree'd

Killzone was never anything special the first 2 try's. What makes ppl think 3rd time is a lucky charm?

Also, since when has a first party sony game on a console been that good in the first place?

Put aside GT and GoW.

"but a killzone dud would be painfull for a few months."

Especially since, according sony fanboys,  it's the second coming of christ.

Blue3, you are one blind fanboy.

 you really are a fool.

If killzone is a dud they will get sloughterd by the media, they will take shiet from every one untill some game like Uncharted comes out to silance them.

This is their big FPS, Socom4 and Resistance2 are coming in 08 they really need Killzone to be a hit especially in the US market leading up to xmas 07.

A FPS is not that hard to do, given enough time and resouces a great fps is easy.  Thats exactly what gurilla got this time.

they are getting slaughtered by the media anyway, they don't need killzone to be a dud for that.

I don't quite understand your reasoning for calling him a fool, you haven't actually rebutted any of his points. We know Sony need Killzone to be a hit. The problem is, past evidence points to a dud.

Help! I'm stuck in a forum signature!

Now, now... everyone is entitled to their own view without necessarily being called a "fool". Play nice everyone ;)

...

At the least, I believe Killzone will look great. Whether Sony can nail the game in terms of gameplay (FPS gamers are very, very fickle!) is yet to be seen.

BTW - is there any news at all, to believe that Killzone will be released this year? I was almost certain it would be a 2008 title (Sony have plenty of titles coming for this Xmas as it is).

Gesta Non Verba

Nocturnal is helping companies get cheaper game ratings in Australia:

Game Assessment website

Wii code: 2263 4706 2910 1099

I'm kinda weird in this thinking, but it's my thinking. The guy is selling the graphics like a cure all tonic it sounds like, riding the hype on the programming and rendering. Naturally, physics sells games and all...

But what about the graphics? Here's where I may be weird: I don't like realistic violence. If the graphics are so close to reality that it looks in all sense that I'm actually shooting someone, that turns me off to a game. So what may be a selling point for some people makes me not want to buy it.

I'm fine with a BFG blowing the hell out of everything around it in a near comical display of blood and guts, but a realistic shooting death of a normal looking person kinda disturbs me. Weird thing is, I'm fine with punching realistic looking people. Just not shooting them.

See Ya George.

"He did not die - He passed Away"

At least following a comedians own jokes makes his death easier.

Again, Guerilla Games was still independent when they made the first Killzone; part of Sony, more money and resources, and most of the times Sony can deliver on the software. The second incarnation should not be thrown into the mix because that's like saying MGS4 will be a dud because MGS Acid sucked donkey balls as well.
