I always see many 360's in stock over here and according to VGChartz the ww stock is just ~700k, so I find it very much of a strecht to think 2.5M M&S games are on retailers shelves, but in my opinion it could be about 1.5M across the 2 versions in anticipation of the olympic games

Depends on the royalties Nintendo gets from Sega for using their mascott-character + normal licensing fees for games on the console.

Well, it's published by Nintendo in Japan, so Sega's cut will be even less there, but they're still making a tidy profit off every copy sold.

Well, Sonic Unleashed isn't going to sell as well on the PS3 and 360 as on the Wii but it will still cost more so Sega needs some nice pocket money to make up for that.
