To be honest the ps3 was the last console that I bought. I got my wii on launch, my 360 about a year after and the ps3 a couple months done the line from that. To be honest the only real reason I bought my ps3 was for the final fantasy exclusive, as I planned to get Verses and XIII together. I'm a huge FF fan and have played most of the iterations since FF7, and I also plan to get a DS and play the remakes that they've launched.

However, with the atomic bomb that M$ just dropped I'm starting to wonder about my ps3. I know this announcment will have a negative impact on ps3 sales in America, not so sure about europe tho. but how many of you bought a ps3 just for this?

My ps3 just got alot less attractive and alot less useful. I reckon theres a couple gamers that will be thinking like me as well.

overall, it is a bit late for MS to announce the FFXIII deal

 actually I think its the perfect time to announce it. PS3 has been outselling the 360 for almost all of 2008, so M$ is trying to squash sony's momentium and gain some of their own, and what a better way to do it then a stage like E3 where nerds like us monitor it like a holy event. Also i don't think sony will be able to top this bombshell, so it gets even worse for sony

I bought a PS3 knowing FFXIII, was coming to it, but then there are about 15 other games that are are worthy of my purchase.

Only game that interests me on the 360 now and looking at upcoming titles is Star Ocean 4. And sadly, I ain't going to buy a 360 just for 1 game.

If you were gonna buy a PS3 just for FFXIII, surely you'd wait until it was about to release, because the price will go down. If you already have one, you must have other reasons for wanting one.

 well the idea is there will always be at least one game that attracts you to a console, and in the case of final fantasy, waiting for it to realease you'll see something else you like. but the main reason you bought the system was for that one game
