Forums - Gaming Discussion - WTF!! Wiimote Rival Technology Expected to makes its way to PS3 and 360

Considering the wiimotes are bluetooth, and the ps3 supports that... I wonder if some company could make a wii play like game for the ps3 with a bundled nintendo controller. That would be sweet.... then other developers could also make use of Nintendo's controller on a ps3...  Plus $40 beats $150...

 Probably in no way legal.

LoL. 3rd-Party peripherals....

I do enjoy messing with Wiimotes on my computer though...still waiting for the perfect HL2 mod!

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

1) Adopted by MS and Sony, it would look desperate and sad, and simply validate everything Nintendo's been doing.

2) As a 3rd party, or late in console life, add on, it would not be seen as
standard equipment. Developers wouldn't make games for it, or at least not devoted to it (which is what you really need), and so gamers wouldn't bother buying it.

3) By the time it is released, the Wii will be retailing for $9.95. So who needs it?

 1) It is not a company of MS or Sony it is not their choice...What can those two say against it?

"We don't want it?"

 2) They will make games for it (the company itself) and probably third party games like Rayman Rabbits 2 will be playable with it. It will be good for developpers like Ubisofts RR2 who probably sell more games with it.

3) I don't know when it will release :s.

I'm gonna say this only once, the wii remote was originally developed as an add on for the Game cube, but they realized that peripherals never sell as good as standards. If they make it an add on as an -afterthought- sure it may have some good games/uses(think eye toy) but it will by and large be ignored by not only consumer but developer.

I'm not saying it isn't a good idea I'm saying bad execution. It will also make some consumers look at it and go "hmm I guess that Wii did have a good idea, it's cheaper... the games are cheaper maybe I should just buy the Wii" Don't tell me it would not happen because the average "consumer" isn't overly bright in every field. Videogames happens to be one of those fields most people just don't understand too well.

it looks like crap.

no one will buy it.

Hmm not true.

The company will publish this with their own games (and third party Wii games)

So you don't have to buy it with your PS3 or X360.

And why cost more? This thing maybe cost between 50-100 bucks...

Wii 250 bucks ...That is around 150 bucks profit.

In fact I don't want this but I was surprised about it.

He means those consoles are already expansive plus you'd need to buy those 3rd party controllers? Just do the math... And sorry but not everybody's rich. ;)

What about some PS3 and X360 users who see this and want to play one special game...They will probably prefer to buy this with the game than buying a Wii.

But I think it can be a win win win situation for the Wii, X360 and PS3  The company will make games to so you as Wii owner will have a big library, X360 and PS3 owners can have the same gameplay like the Wii and some of the Wii games.

But  I don't care really much about his if it fail l or wil super popular I will not buy it.

I know :)  but if you have a PS3 or an X360 and you buy this thing it will be cheaper than buying an Wii.
