It's almost kind of cute how there are people who that believe that a tallying of review scores from various sites is somehow important or worth caring about. It is quite literally a repository of combined opinions, without an ounce of usable quantitative data. All numbers are derived based upon the feelings of the reviewers, meaning they contain bias and are useful only in a qualitative sense. Yet they try to make it quantitative. So amusing... Although I can't judge too harshly, as I bought into that system of rating games at one time too.

But here, the point isn't the reviews. It's the fact that the numbers got fudged, just as soon as the numbers dropped for GTA IV.

BTW, naznatips, is it okay to call a conspiracy on this?

So as many noticed, today both GTAIV versions dropped below Ocarina of time again.   Well, CNet will have none of that!  Ocarina of Time somehow lost a source today, putting it down to 3rd place all time once again.  Along with the lost source comes a healthy dose of lost credibility for Gamerankings.  http://www.gamerankings.com/itemrankings/simpleratings.asp?rankings=y

It isnt CNET anymore, CBS bought CNET out.

They're related to Gamespot.

That sums it up.

So which source was lost?

Here is the funny thing about this. When I checked the number of reviews and it was still between the GTA 4 scores there was 32 review sources. That number is still 32, but it has dropped by .2% if not slightly more. It seems less like a review score down, and more like an adjustment down.

worse, its all related to CBS. This is why the PS3 version is below the 360 version now.

Yeah I thought that was odd too. The PS3 version was higher right up until OoT wedged in-between them, and the number of review scores for each did not change much at all. I just figured I missed when it happened, but in light of the new info I am thinking something is very wrong over at Gamespot.
