Forums - Nintendo Discussion - How much will the Switch 2 weight?

What ist your weight estimate for the Switch 2 including the Joy-Cons?

max. 400 grams (~Switch 1 LCD) 0 0%

401 - 425 grams (~Switch 1 OLED) 0 0%

426 - 450 grams 0 0%

451 - 475 grams (~Switch + Hori Split Pad) 1 16.67%

476 - 500 grams (~Wii U controller) 1 16.67%

501 - 525 grams 3 50.00%

526 - 550 grams (~PS Portal) 0 0%

551 - 575 grams 1 16.67%

576 - 600 grams (~ROG Ally) 0 0%

more than 600 grams (~Steam Deck OLED) 0 0%

Total:6

The Switch 2 gets bigger than the Switch 1 and probably also needs a (heavier?) battery with higher capacity.

So it will probably be a bit heavier than a Switch 1 (LCD) / Switch 1 OLED.

What ist your weight estimate (in grams) for the Switch 2 including the weight of the new Joy-Cons?

Around the Network

I hear they're adding a free gym membership to Nintendo Switch online.

I'm thinking 500+ grams.
(if the first switch with joycons is like 400g.... yeah the switch 2, will be 500+)

Maybe they can keep it at 490 - 499 grams, if they cheap out on the battery capacity. But I doubt that.

Game Boy Micro 80g (incl. battery)

Always forgot.

Plus:
Pokémon Mini 71g

(it was a full console with game carts)

VMU and PocketStation were even more light: 40 and 30 g.

Game & Watch 68 g

Oh, and I just weighted my first handheld ever (which still works)

Space Viking: 51 g

Around 550g seems like a fair estimate and the Switch 2 is probably near the limit for how big Nintendo will go with their handhelds.
