For people who are enjoying Super Mario RPG on Switch: Have you played the original version for SNES, or the Switch version is your first experience with the game?

I want to know how many people are having their first contact with the game on Switch.

Also, are you enjoying it? To me, this is the best Mario RPG ever made. Such good story and likeable characters.

Played the snes version, thought it was OK. Love the switch version. The difference is the improved characters really bring out the atmosphere way better. Especially the comedy aspect.

I played the SNES version for the first time in the mid 2000s and really enjoyed it. Especially the humor which a lot of the time was the type of humor Nintendo would never do lol. It was pretty simplistic, but I loved all the originality Square added to the Mario formula. The remake has improved the original in practically every way and modernized the game in all the right ways, at least to me. It's probably the second-best Mario RPG behind The Thousand Year Door.

Wow impressive people are saying the remake is clearly better. The original was such a great game, much much muuuuch better than the later Paper Mario series, and my 5th favorite SNES RPG which was a system on which RPGs were insanely good.

Loved the SNES version back in the day, and im loving the Switch versión today.

Played the SNES version, loved it! And I am enjoying this remake just as much.

I played the SNES version at least 10 times from 2002 till now.


The last time I played the SNES version was back in 2021.
