Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Nintendo x Sony Announce Deal For live action "Legend of Zelda" feature film

https://www.ign.com/articles/nintendo-is-making-a-live-action-legend-of-zelda-movie

Bingo, bango, bongo, Nintendo has officially announced the long speculated on Legend of Zelda film. It will be live action, and Sony will be their distributor and co-financier of the film (surprise, surprise).

Avi Arad of Marvel/Spider-Man fame will produce, Mr. Miyamoto will be at the helm, like the Mario movie. The writer is the guy who wrote Jurassic World and Great Detective Pikachu, the director is the guy who did the Maze Runner movies and is doing the new Planet of the Apes film, which is said to look really good.

Has to be a kick in the balls for Universal to miss out on this one I would think as a lot of the speculation had them getting the rights. Looks like Nintendo is shooting their shot as far as a big live action blockbuster film.

Also yes, let your Sony/Nintendo Playstation jokes commence.

Eiji Aonuma will end up working for Sony in about 2 years.

Sony knew in 2006!

Bite my shiny metal cockpit!

Did anyone have "Nintendo and Sony team up to make a live-action Zelda movie" on their BINGO cards?

I've seen people say that they could never see the two companies in some form (even outside of gaming) work together lol.

Why would he do that?

Also, am I the only one who wanted it to be animated instead of live action?

Live action is a bit of a let down to be honest, I was hoping for a animated movie directed by Genndy Tartakovsky.

Not here for along time but a good time.

Aside from my lack of confidence in this group to make the kind of movie The Legend of Zelda deserves. I mean we never know, it could decent at least.
But strange to see a venture between Nintendo and Sony in this case.

Anywoo, I was all in for an animated movie and now we got this ... And usually, most Sony movie live action production s are middling at best.

Good thing this little project is prolly not coming out in the next few years 👏
