Devil's Advocate:

The only reason I think the Wii is being singled out because it doesn't have a great new ip out.

Sony has put out Uncharted, Heavenly Sword, Folkore, Motorstorm, Resistance, etc launched. MS has launched Gears, Mass Effect, Bioshock, Viva Pinata, etc.

The is the only reasoning I think of to warrant the heavily rely on sequels.

I was hoping that the date at the top of the Article would say April fools... but it did not... This looks like something I read 1 year ago.. back when very little SW was out, and only Zelda, WiiPlay and WiiSport were 1 million sellers..



End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)

Wii- 72 million   3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases

360- 37 million   Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak

PS3- 29 million  Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut

Nintendo has taken a beating by the mass media this week and I have a feeling the media’s love affair with their console is just about at the end of the road.


I'm afraid I don't follow mass media outlets very closely.  Could somebody post links to examples of what this guy is talking about?

In terms of game's, they are not that much different from what was on the gamecube imo, the only thing that makes them sell more now is that more people have a Wii because the motion controls are fun to use with those games.

There is a definate buzz surrounding the Wii at the moment and i don't think it will maintain this for very long. Who knows, probably by 2009, it will be selling on par with 360 and ps3.

Typing imo doesn't actually make the games like that. It just means you think so, not that others think so, and it's what those people think that matters. 



A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
