From the 1970s through to the 2020s, which do you think is the best decade for games, and why?
Let's see...
The 1970s started it all, so we can't forget about that. It was the dawn of video-games with the Odyssey.
The 1980s had the 8-bit games, some of my favorites. Lots of NES titles are amazing to this day.
The 1990s had the SNES, my favorite system ever.
The 2000s had the PS2, the console with the greatest library in my opinion. It was also the birth of the PS3/360/Wii era, which I think it was a great time for gaming.
The 2010s had some great games and systems like the PS4 and the Switch.
And now, the 2020s are slowly turning into what looks like an amazing age for gaming. There are a lot of titles that I want to play, and with the current gen (PS5/XS) we are seeing some epic trailers for games coming the next years. I can't wait to try Pragmata, Alan Wake 2, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, etc.
Well, I can't choose. Gaming has a nice history, and I'm glad to be living at this age.
Most of my favorite games are from the 2010's so I have to pick that. It was also the time of my life when I was most hyped about gaming in general, started following gaming news, looking at sales, joining this forum, and all that. Whereas in the last few years that interest has been dwindling.

1990s
My heart says 90s but my brain says 2000s
Deus Ex (2000) - a game that pushes the boundaries of what the video game medium is capable of to a degree unmatched to this very day.
Anything up to 2000 or so. Everything after not so great.
90s for me easily, and its not even a competition. Mostly because of SNES reason but not just that, the gaming community as a whole was better, the conversations we had back then, the things that we thought were important. It was way better than what came after.
It's between the 2000s and 2010s for me. I have to go with the 2000s for...
Software like: KOTOR Duology, the birth of Animal Crossing, Mother 3, Paper Mario games, Super Mario Sunshine, Super Mario Galaxy, Super Smash Bros. Melee, Super Smash Bros. Brawl,
Video game controllers getting better and better.
Adding online play (and Wi-FI) to consoles as a standard.

I choose 90s. Not because I’m a 90s kid, but because it was when competition was the most intense when it came to Nintendo, Sega, and PlayStation.
