Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Batman: Arkham Trilogy Switch - only 1 game on cartridge, 2 are digital

https://www.ign.com/articles/two-games-in-nintendo-switch-port-of-batman-arkham-trilogy-are-digital-only

"Batman: Arkham Trilogy only get Batman: Arkham Asylum on the cartridge, while Arkham City and Arkham Knight are digital copies."

"...the cartridge needs to be inside the Switch if you want to play Arkham City or Arkham Knight, despite not physically being on the cartridge."

Well this sucks.  I'd expect worst case, Arkham Knight not on cartridge but Arkham City as well is a bummer. I'm less excited for this now.

I knew it. I have the games on PS4 anyway. Dont see how Arkham Knight will play well on the Switch.

I imagine the reason this is coming so late is because Warner is short on cash and needs anything to cover their recent losses. Otherwise, they wouldn't have even bothered.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

That's a bummer. This is sort of the worst of both worlds. The cart only has one game, but it's needed to activate the digital titles. So it lacks permanence and convenience.

At least the best Arkham game is the one on the cart

This is unfortunate. I figured Arkham Knight wouldn't be. That game wasn't even on 360 and PS3, and it wasn't optimized for PC properly at launch.
But they probably are using a 16 GB card. I feel like you could fit the first two games (with or without DLC) on a 32 GB card.

Lifetime Sales Predictions

Switch: 151 million (was 73, then 96, then 113 million, then 125 million, then 144 million)

PS5: 115 million (was 105 million) Xbox Series S/X: 67 million (was 60 million)

PS4: 120 mil (was 100 then 130 million, then 122 million) Xbox One: 51 mil (was 50 then 55 mil)

3DS: 75.5 mil (was 73, then 77 million)

Seems like you have to download 22GB if you buy the physical version of the Metal Gear Solid Collection as well. The cartridge only comes with like 2GB of stuff. God I hate this practise. Im not a MGS fan, but I was thinking about trying them out. Not with that half-assed decision though.

I dont see how any of that makes sense especially since I cant see this selling well due to the fact that these games have been re-released multiple times and the fact that the Switch version will likely play really bad in comparison to the other versions.

I feel like this is gonna be the Mass Effect 3 WiiU of the Switch lol.

Arkham Knight is no more demanding than games like Witcher 3 or Dying Light that play well on Switch.

As with any demanding port, it's possible it might be a mess, (just look at the PC version) but its also entirely possible it'll turn out fine. Obviously it won't be as pretty as the PS4 version, but you can't take that version on the bus.

I just dont trust WB to make the effort. This seems more of a cash grab than anything else. They should have just waited for Switch 2, but that might not have 120M+ units sold.

Thats disappointing.
