Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Sales Top 10 Million Units Worldwide in 3 Days

Nintendo and The Pokemon Company have announced Pokémon Scarlet and Violet have sold over 10 million units worldwide in three days. This includes 4.05 million units sold in Japan.

This has set a new record for Nintendo with the biggest launch ever for any game released on a Nintendo console.

"This is the highest number ever for global and domestic sales in the first three days after the release of software for all Nintendo game consoles, including Nintendo Switch," reads the press release.

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet released for the Nintendo Switch on November 18.

Lol. Guess the next game will have bugs as well.

Pokemon sells more than 10 millions in three days. Shin Megami Tensei V sells 1 millions in five months.

While this is an amazing accomplishment, you just wish the game had released in a much better state. They took the time to acknowledge how well it sold, but haven't acknowledged the game's performance issues and what they are doing to remedy the issues?

These companies don't care about you, they just want your money. And they'll happily take it if you give it to them. They don't care if you're none the wiser. I guess I'm part of the problem too but I guess I wanted to try it out for myself.

Hopefully there is a patch planned and in the works. I'm having fun myself when the game isn't glitching and running like piss, but I'm glad people are finding joy with the game. I just wish they had released a much more solid product.

I know this might make me sound like an apologist, or like I am giving them a "free pass"
But aside from bugs and glitches, I really liked scarlet

I liked the story for the evil team
The rival wasn't overly in your face and challenges made sense
This is also one of the only Pokémon games where I liked almost all of the new Mons, and forms
And, in my own opinion, the world was fun to explore.

I know the game has issues, it has a LOT of issues, and I put that down to the stupid schedule of needing the games out by a certain time, but I also think the Pokémon franchise has move on in a lot of aspects outside of those glaring issues that shows promise for the series. If only they had more time, or stopped with yearly releases and could dedicate more to the main series then we could have something special.

Final note, it seems that customers are able to get refunds for the game if you go through Nintendo's channels, but I hear not everyone is getting it for some reason. If you are really not into the game, and have it digitally, try getting your money back.

Thats crazy. Well I guess its the biggest IP in entertainment for a reason.

It could actually be the biggest console exclusive launch of all time, I've said in another thread that it doesn't matter what people say the actual audience the series is aimed at don't care as long as they have fun, Pokemon has a subculture built into it something few games manage. The game has issues although they will likely at some point going to be resolved but it was clear that co-op Pokemon was going to be huge we've been hearing calls for and memes about a Pokemon MMO for decades now.

It used to rival (edge out) Monster Hunter week 1 sales in Japan. Now it sells almost as much in a week as a Monster Hunter does lifetime. Nintendo's ongoing growth in Japan never ceases to amaze.

To be fair I, like many Pokemon fans, pre-ordered it without knowing it had so many issues. I would guess the majority of people who bought it in the first 3 days didn't know either. We definitely care about the performance issues it has and I hope Game Freak doesn't take the huge initial sales as a pass to release a game in this state again but I'm very pessimistic now.

Welp, Switch will now be tied with the Wii for the most 20m sellers (7) on a single platform fairly soon.
