The end of the year is already here, so lets predict how much these consoles will sell in Japan.

2017- 1.302m

2018- 1.506m

2019- 1.587m

2020- 1.556m

2021- 1.238m

2018(PS4)- 382k

2019(PS4)- 285k

2020- 48k(PS4) and 255k(PS5 launch)

2021(PS5) - 66k

2020- 31k (XBS launch)

2021- 15k

Some people have already predicted in the Famitsu thread for the Switch, so I thought it would be fun to do all 3 consoles.

Well the PS5 seems to be gearing up for a massive holiday globally, but how much of that will be Japan is hard to say. Still, I'll throw down some numbers:

Switch - 1350k

PS5 - 250k

Xbox Series - 70k

Major Switch Titles Launch Aligned

2022 predictions:

  • Switch - 24m
  • PS5 - 15.5m
  • Xbox Series - 10m

2022 - around 1M

2022 - around 300k

2022 - around 100k

Switch 1.15 million
PS5 350k
Xbox Series 95K

Switch - 1.2mil
PS5 - 260k
XBS - 60k

Last year I remember the PS5 having several very bad weeks right in the holiday period. It won't be nearly as bad this time.

Switch 1.75 milion
PS5 225k
Xbox Series 90k

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

NSW: 1.15 million
Ps5: 300k
Xbox series: 95k

As for me I think...

Switch ~ 1.1M

PS5 ~ 220k

XS ~ 55k

Pretty pessimistic overall. Switch will probably be slightly down YoY. PS5 won't have enough to stock until week 1 2023 for a big week. XS will maintain about 4k per week until getting a slight uptick during the holidays. Let's hope I am wrong on all predictions!

Predictions close when Famitsu releases their next sales report (Week 45).
