Forums - Gaming Discussion - People that want certain games but never played the classics thread

Lol so true, I actually played F zero on SNES and Gamecube, this reminds me of people asking for certaiin game Star Gladiator 2 on the Dreamcast though F zero would do great, but not Star Gladiator 2 from Dreamcast because fighting games as a genre die looking at Persona 4 arena ultimax and many fighting games coming back for bad sales also shmups get bmbed harder than persona 4 arena ultimax ports on Switch

Cute and honest Sega Saturn fan, also noone should buy Sega grrrr, Sega for life. The reason I'm chaotic to few 3rd party developers is because I'm protecting Sega and also I lack skill to get really hot girl I really want. also few devs deserve it for making bad game's personal experiences, looking at Ghost Blade HD the shmup or Fighting EX Layer. My standards are too high for genres I play. KOF 13 > Fighting EX layer gameplay.

Around the Network

I want a new F zero, my opinion matters more though sales of F zero SNES I heard are around the millions mostly 30 year old gamers . I kinda dig that. We know how Persona 4 arena ultimax turned out though those awful PS3 and Xbox 360 sales and then ask for a port only to get bodied again ^^, I played the classics including Mushihimesama and it tanked on switch too .

That's me in regards to a Final Fantasy 6 remake I guess. Never played the original, but I've heard plenty of good things. Wish they'd remade that instead of FF7. It would've been more interesting to try something new (to me at least) than something I already know.

I’d like a new dragons dogma: dark arisen, but I’ve never played past the intro of it… so I can’t really speak.

I use to clamor for new installments of classics. But over the last ten years or so, I've realized something: almost never does it live up to the games of old. Whether it's because of a change of developers, or the developers got old, or for some other reason. Rarely do they feel as if they belong with the originals. At best, it's like seeing your old high school buddy, decades later. Yes, he's still that guy. But he's fat, bald, wrinkled, working for minimum wage and drives a used car that's all rusted out. Not pleasant.

So in my opinion, it's best to just leave the past alone. Those old games are still there to play. I don't want my childhood and teen years pillaged to make mediocre games, simply because. They deserve better than that. I deserve better than that. We all deserve better than that.
