Guns Undarkness Kickstarter campaign to launch September 12 - Gematsu

New strategy RPG from Persona series composer seeking $30,000 in funding.

Shoji Meguro will launch a Kickstarter campaign for November 2021-announced strategy RPG Guns Undarkness on September 12, the Persona series composer announced. It will have an initial goal of $30,000 for a PC release, with additional stretch goals to bring the game to PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo platforms.

Guns Undarkness is Meguro’s first official post-ATLUS project as a freelance game developer. And while he is known for his compositional work on the Persona and Shin Megami Tensei series, he also served as creative director for the Persona games on PSP and has been developing indie RPGs himself for a number of years.

In addition to game design, Meguro will compose and produce all of the music in Guns Undarkness. He is also joined by character designer Ilya Kuvshinov (Ghost in the Shell: SAC 2045) and lyricist Lotus Juice (Persona series).

There's an old trailer from 11 months ago.

Doesn't look like my kind of game so far, but I'll keep an open mind and see how it develops with future trailers, etc.

Around the Network

It looks... unity-esque? It has that fidgety animation and camera movement that so many early access games have. Which is fine in theory, since it's still a work in progress, but I would have chosen the shown scenes more carefuly.

You know it deserves the GOTY.
