Forums - Sales Discussion - What Underrated Series Do You Think Should Be More Popular?

This community has a tendency to show love towards some games that aren't necessarily the biggest series out there. People on this forum are more likely to talk about Fire Emblem, Xenoblade Chronicles, Persona, and others rather than focusing on more popular games like Call of Duty, Assassin's Creed, etc. There are obvious exceptions like God of War, Final Fantasy, Halo, or The Legend of Zelda but overall, at least for this threads purpose, Which series do you think deserves to get more hype behind it?

My choice would be the Katamari games, it's casual but definitely requires a certain skill to be able to complete levels (or sometimes you just want to piss off the King of the Cosmos). It doesn't have to be super niche, considering Kirby only has 1 game that has hit 5 million and Metroid has never hit 5 million, they could also be considered underrated.

Either way, which series/game do you think should be bigger than it is?

Senran Kagura, I love the heck out of those games.

Suikoden.
Ys.

Never heard of either of those, are they new series? what platforms?

Freedom Force. Everyone should play Freedom Force.

Also, a while ago there was this game called Demon's Souls that I felt was greatly underappreciated, but I think the dev team is getting the appropriate amount of appreciation now.

The Legend of Heroes. The Trails games in it are some of the best JRPGs I've ever played, and while they do seem to sell fairly well for what is obviously quite a niche franchise, they deserve more.

Syphon Filter.

Nioh and Nioh 2, the most underrated series in the world. It is worse now with Chaos being a mediocre game.

Persona 5 gets a lot of praise but Persona 5 Strikers doesn't get much praise, despite being an amazing game.

Dynasty Warriors series, mindless fun in games is rarely praised.

RTS games in general are unpopular despite the depth of gameplay.

I think Skies of Arcadia should be more popular. Just popular enough to earn a re-release on modern systems.
