Triangle Strategy shipped 800k units through its first two weeks on the market, a more than decent result for a turn-based strategy game. Since the previous title of this development team (Octopath Traveler) was later released elsewhere, this poll makes it a point that you'll predict sales only for the Nintendo platform.

Bonus question: If you've played the game, or at least its Prologue Demo, what are your thoughts on it?

It's really difficult to predict sales for these more niche titles, because you never know which one is going to unexpectedly catch on. Triangle Strategy feels like the kind of title that has a ceiling somewhere between 1.5 and 2 million at most, but it could also have really good legs and end up selling a lot more. I'm quite certain I'll get it eventually as well, but probably not any time soon.

I would say 1.5 million is kind of the maximum. It's a great game, but there's nothing about it that I think would make it perform that much better than other games in this mostly niche genre.

I think the actual number will be like 1.2. And, for an SRPG that likely didn't have a tremendous budget on a single console, that's pretty darn good.  

Around 1.4M-1.5M on Switch only.

A great performance even if not tremendous, it's still one of the best release of it's genre in the last few years which also garner good sales because Nintendo is able to market these AA from SE like they are almost a must-have AAA

I think it can just barely make it to 2m.

Keep in mind, strategy games are bigger on Switch than any other dedicated gaming console in history - in terms of game volume, it’s to the point where there are “Top 20 Strategy RPGs on Nintendo Switch” lists. The potential is higher, and while it’s not the best strategy RPG on the console (maybe not even too 10), it might be the first or second most popular (next to Fire Emblem Three Houses) thanks to Square’s marketing and branding. And it might actually sell fairly close to the Fire Emblem game - currently 3 million.

Id say it can crawl to 1.5 million on Switch.

 Nintendo had the publishing rights in the west and marketing rights for the game. I wouldn't put much of the merit on SE since it's also Nintendo that push for these games quite hard during their directs. From reveal to release, the game had always a good presence in Directs.

Though admittedly, SE is responsible for the demos so it definitely helped a lot too.
