Forums - Gaming Discussion - Have you tried New World yet? Number 1 PLAYED game on Steam!

I figured New World was going to be at the very least somewhat popular, but I definitely wasn't expecting it to reach the heights of CS:GO and Dota 2 on the first day! The number of concurrent players continues to rise each time I check.

Does Amazon Games FINALLY have a winner on their hands????

Although, reviews are at exactly 50% mixed........I'm assuming it's just initial curiosity about the game as even Twitch is at nearly 1 million viewers for the game.

Anyone planning on trying the game out?

Never heard of it. So no.

Bite my shiny metal cockpit!

It will probably grow a bit post-launch due to hype, then tank a bit due to lack of quality, then prop back up a bit once it stabilizes but will end up quite low. It will most likely drop out of the list within a month.

Seems like Amazon finally has a hit. The 5th highest peak players for a game on steam. Maybe it'll get even higher this weekend.

You mean the game that bombards me with ads on this site.
No. No I won't play it.

Nah, I doubt my PC even meets the minimum requirement, and I sure as heck ain't upgrading my PC while prices are hellaciously high thanks to the semi-conductor shortage and miners. Maybe if it comes to console eventually I will play it.

Edit: Checked, my i3 4170 CPU is beneath the minimum requirement, and my GTX 950 GPU and 8GB of RAM just barely meets minimum. Wouldn't be a good experience playing it even if I could get it to run, super low resolution and framerate on lowest settings probably. Will wait on a console port, and since Amazon is saying they currently have no plans to develop a console port, I guess I won't be playing it at all.

If VGChartz didn’t have their ads take up half your screen, then it probably wouldn’t be as big of a deal. But they do. It truly is asinine. I’ve never had a legit website allow such an atrocity, and I’m considering leaving VGC bc it’s so annoying and obtrusive.

If you're using the desktop site you could just use adblock, it works wonders lol... other than that though there's not really anything we can do about it.

I recommend installing AdBlock. It's a free extension on both Chrome and Firefox I believe. I use it on Chrome and it blocks all ads on this site. I tried to go without it to support the site, but it just isn't feasible, half the time the ads cover up links that you need to click.

Only device I go to VGC on is my iPhone. :/
