Forums - Gaming Discussion - Retro games resellers like flexing on average or poor collectors (explain)

Many retro games are being ported today like these

Breakers (dreamcast) 500 dollars XD there's a Switch port already

Cotton Boomerang and cotton 2 both 300 dollars + each there on Switch

Gigawing 1 for 150 dollars on Switch for peanuts

Giga wing 2 340 dollars there on Switch peanuts

Gunbird 1 for 60 dollars Dreamcast version , this game is 7 dollars on Switch

Gunbird 2 for 140 dollars (Dreamcast) again 7 dollars on Switch

Waku Waku 7 From Sega Saturn 70 dollars its 7 dollars on Switch/Xbox One/Ps4

Vampire Savior 50 dollars on Sega Saturn no online , I got Darkstalkers Resurrection for 15 dollars it includes Vampire Savior and Darkstalker with Online multiplayer.

Games noone cares but small groups (why are you buying these games? they barely do anything. if you doing it for collection then your being finesse to collect junk. Collectors = finessed minority.

Sailor Moon for Sega Saturn who cares you can't combo good and who buys this it's not nitch to be 90 dollars.

Savaki (sega Saturn) UFC ripoff plays like crap cost 50 dollars I can get UFC on Xbox One for 10 dollars and has online multiplayer. get dunked by collector reseller market by this awful game.

Mortal Kombat 2 (Sega Saturn) for 50 dollars , look at me what is wrong with you resellers I have Mortal Kombat Kollection on Xbox 360 for 10 dollars and has online and the superior Arcade version port of Mortal Kombat 2 where you get this idea to sell it on Sega Saturn and it has no online while xbox 360 does have online.

Alot of junk games with crazy prizes that suck

I wouldnt pay 100 for tech romancer

Alot of them are duds atleast Majora's Mask on N64 is different from 3DS version with Giant's mask that retro game is actually worth it , most of these are 100% ports for modern consoles are better like Vampire Savior / Mortal Kombat 2/Sonic 2

Wanna know finese and flexing I'm top 10 world wide in Bullet Soul infinite burst on leaderboards I payed 10 dollars digitally and don't need to come back have fun watching my name on leaderboards and the game cost 200 on Xbox 360 burn. Even though it's my favorite Shmup.

Heard cave is porting more shmups to switch. like Espgaluda 2 who is getting finessed here?

These ebay prices are insane .

retro RPG/shmup market don't care for collectors.

few fighting and adventure games to modern consoles call it a day, the developer announced a modern version.

Why am I mad at these prices?

I'll just leave it too the ultra rich to buys theselike that Super mario 64 Perfect mint sold for 2 million since those guys don't mind I'll stay away from them they love burning money but it pisses me off seeing everyday game like Mortal Kombat 2 for 50 why are their so many that burn money , and Nekketsu Oyako is 200 dollars but Sega themselfs might port that in the future since they own techno soft IP's why is the average joe also overspending?

I'm sort of a collector myself but if I see A game I used to own Ny gunblade and LA machineguns which I bought at launch for 30 dollars and the game is selling for 100 dollars now let me tell you something as a poor collector sort of just let it go It's not that fun and wouldn't buy it again not even for 150 dollars it's made by Sega I'm a huge Sega fan but even though I have few K's in my bank I ain't getting flexed couple of 100's as a poor collector sort of .

pfft I have like many many K's in my bank but , what truly pisses me is getting flexed for a couple of 100's

I'm just pissed as a retro collector (sort of) but I don't dedicate it much , I have other needs. I might be inbetween average/poor no I don't have 100k in my bank .

I love to travel more so or spend some time on the snow which average people live up there in california I'm not a poor man that live's in an apartment or very cheap home in awful area I'm inbetween and I love the snow , (not telling you where it's located in california) Don't wanna see you heh, I hate spending 100's on games .

Cute and honest Sega Saturn fan, also noone should buy Sega grrrr, Sega for life.

Around the Network

I don't know about most of these games you've mentioned. All I can say is that prices are high, because certain people are willing to pay them. A game like Earthbound on the SNES can still sell for $500+ even though you can play it on the SNES classic.  So there is more going on than just the availability to play a game.

People collect for a variety of reasons. Some want to play on original hardware, while others like to see a physical copy on their shelf. As long as there are collectors willing to pay these prices, then some games are going to sell for a whole lot.

I didn't mean to make this thread I'm just shocked a certain game I want is asking 300 dollars and I'm the type to not fork the price of a Nintendo Switch for 1 game that might get ported to the future I don't wanna regret it feel I've been tricked , I'm a collectror myself aswell (Sort of) but I ain't paying 300 for 1 game , btw I could buy Panzer Dragoon Saga brand new x 20 but I rather buy a Something for 30 I'm that stingy with money.

That how collecting of anything works. You can buy an original painting for big money, or a reproduction for next to nothing.

Few people are willing to pay the big bucks. But, apparently there are enough people who are willing to do those things to support the high prices.

That's nasty I hate it hope it changes but I doubt? just the game I want there is no auction on ebay.
