Forums - Sales Discussion - For non-switch owners, what games by any dev would make you buy one?

With the new OLED Switch coming out, some of us might not yet own a Switch and some of might buy it or some may never own a Switch regardless.

Nintendo games are not everybody's cup of team, but they are attracting quite a lot of people.

For any of you on the fence or those who don't care about it, what game reveal would make you turn around and say "Damn, I have to have it now"?

The question is interesting to me because games in general have evolved, even Nintendo games. Some of you might even have been fans of their games once, and those games might not exist anymore.

In answer, you can come up with a fantasy that may not yet exist, like a cross-over between two types of games, like say a cross-over between Ico and Zelda, or games that have existed once, maybe some old-school experience, but they don't exist anymore and it could be an upgraded version. Or it could be types of games that never came out on Nintendo platforms like say Nier Automata or Destiny.

For example, I would buy a Switch if it had a brand new 3D final fantasy that was deeply inspired by the first final fantasy, a true up to date sequel to Super Metroid, or a game in the style of Donkey Kong country, but with much more photorealistic graphics (like Metroid Dread is to 2D metroid).

For some reason SMT and Persona seem extremely popular. I never played them but I see a lot of fans.

I'm a Switch owner, but I find this a curious subject so I will answer

Never bought any hardware to play any game

In reality I don't even think I need a specific hardware to play anything at all. For instance, I have no reason to got a Xbox, is this because Xbox has no good games? Of course not, I'm sure they have a shit tons of awesome games that I am just missing. It's just that any other platform is just more appealing to me

But if tomorrow I only have a Series X in the market I will buy one and play it happily and have a lot of fun and then will regret for not enjoyed Xbox before lmao

Because they're great games..?

Not really sure I'd call them "extremely" popular though, it's always been a niche series but it's grown in popularity a lot with Persona 4 and especially Persona 5. Think some of that popularity is bleeding back over to SMT now, which is nice to see. Personally I haven't played any SMT games but SMT V looks cool and definitely has me interested.

Super mario odyssey almost made me do it.
Galaxy games, only futher drove it home.

SMT 5, might do it (if I can afford it at the time).
A high quality, full budget, Paper mario that returns to its old school roots, might do it too.

I still havnt jumped on the wagon though.
I think the Switch is still overpriced for what it is, Im hopeing theres a decent price cut.

I bought a Switch for SMTV, but while I wait I just finished Pokemon Shield and I thought it was really fun. Next I will play "Fire Emblem: Three Houses".
