Forums - Gaming Discussion - Ed Annunziata creator of Ecco the Dolphin Sega dev working on Ecco the dolphin successor for Amico intellivision

Tommy Tallarico of the Intellivision Amico team has revealed a brand-new game from the Ecco the Dolphin creators coming to the console and highlighted that there will be no Intellivision Amico microtransactions allowed on the system.

The Intellivision Amico is an upcoming family-friendly console with a bunch of great games including Earthworm Jim 4 and others. The pandemic made the launch of this console a challenge and it was ultimately delayed to later in 2021. It looks like it will be worth the wait, though — the company just revealed a new game coming from the Ecco the Dolphin creators, reviving yet another classic game (but with a new name).

Big Ecco fan, but honestly I just don’t see enough value in buying an Amico at the $250 price they are asking for. Maybe if it eventually drops to like $100 I will get one to play this and a few of their other exclusives like Earthworm Jim 4.

I kind of suspect this will be another Ouya situation where the best games end up coming to other consoles anyway.

My thoughts exactly. Minus the big fan of Ecco part. I enjoyed the game on the Sega CD as a kid even if I didn't know what I was doing half of the time. If this successor was on a platform I owned I would pick it up.
