Will be interesting to find out how long the PS5 will sustain itself. Are the good sales figures simply a product of initial low supply or is it a sign of things to come?

The Switch on its road to 19 million units sold before the Monster Hunter hurricane

Xbox doing pretty great for itself too.

Switch getting a bump in stock in the last week before the monster rises. 👀

The calm before the storm... Well at least on the software side of things, pretty solid week for hardware actually.
Now is as good a time as any for a prediction: A 1.75 mil debut for MH Rise is what I expect (on the Famitsu chart so obviously without digital).

Edit: The supply of physical copies could very well end up being a limiting factor, but I guess we'll see.

Major Switch Titles Launch Aligned

2021 predictions:

  • Switch - 27m
  • PS5 - 15.5m
  • Xbox Series - 10m

Next week is going to be the big one! Very anxious to see how it's going to compare Animal Crossing Week 2 on the hardware side. As for the PS5, it's doing very well in the past few weeks meaning it's going to reach the point where the initial demand for PS4 started to struggle (about 572k units) sooner than I initially thought. A lot to look forward to in the coming weeks!

Signature goes here!

Tremendous loss for 2021 this week, but everyone saw that coming. Next week will have to be at least ~225k to hold on to the YTD lead, but that shouldn't be too tall of a hurdle with a software release that is bound to open to 2m+ copies sold (physical + digital).

Legend11 correctly predicted that GTA IV (360+PS3) would outsell SSBB. I was wrong.

A Biased Review Reloaded / Open Your Eyes / Switch Shipments

There are three new third party games that released into the top 10 this week.  They were all on the Switch.  It wasn't that long ago that people were saying that the Switch wouldn't get many third party games.  Now a clean sweep of the top 10 has become the norm, with third party games taking half of the spots.

I honestly thought Switch would be lower this week due to supply being stockpiled for Rise's release.
Can't wait to see next (this) week's numbers, though even those are going to be more indicative of what can be supplied rather than demand.

Bet with Liquidlaser: I say PS5 and Xbox Series will sell more than 56 million combined by the end of 2023.
