Really excited with this, given that this could grow the franchise exponentially. Just kinda mad that Square still hasn't brought over the old games to the Switch.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

As with most games exclusives to one store front or another, within a year or 6 months it will be available over the other popular stores too.

Yea that's true. Hopefully it will come to Gamepass PC like how it's on Xbox right now.

Was hoping for it to come with some tuning up, the proper roster number series (including the latest), and being discounted a bit (considering the OG series is quite old by now), but seeing as it's sold on the storefront I dislike the most, I don't think I'm going to buy it later on Steam, because I don't tend to buy anything that's once gone EGS exclusive. Don't want to reward the publisher for treating me like a second cash cow.

I don't see this massively growing the franchise for SE on PC, because we've seen how little profits the recent exclusives made, so I don't expect a console JRPG series, first time ever on PC, and really oddly numbered, is going to sell bucketloads on just EGS.

what a great publisher

I would please ask for a source on that part about the exclusives bringing in little profit(and thus finding little success), because all the things I have seen so far is that, while they aren't massive successes, they are doing really well for the most part.

From the data I just googled, and that I know of:

- EGS just raked in 700 Million in sales revenue in 2020. I will quote below other interesting tidbits:

"On a daily basis, Epic Games Store sees around 31 million active daily players, which is an increase of 192% from its day-to-day activity back in 2019. The store's catalogue has more than doubled, rising from 190 games at the end of 2019, to 471 games by the end of 2020. Among the most popular titles purchased last year were Rocket League, Borderlands 3, Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 and, of course, global phenomenon Fortnite."

- Hades sold around 1 million units, from which 700 k were from their early acess period(which was EGS exclusive)

- Borderlands 3 launch sales far outpaced Borderlands 2 sales on PC.

There are numerous more arguments for it, and examples to follow along them, but I think you get the picture.

All in all, EGS strategy so far has been a resounding success, and it makes no sense to keep going with it, seeing that there is a long road ahead yet, if they want to compete with Steam. So in that note, there is no reason to think that KH, one of the most successful and recognizable RPG franchise of all time, to not find success there too. There are no good reason that point otherwise, other than the unreasonable hate for a determined storefront.

Now, it might not hit the road running, but it dosen't need to. Especially assuming that it will be comming to Steam later. It's a win-win scenario for everyone, and I"m happy that PC gamers will have the chance to finally experience this incredible series.

Now PC owners can experience the pain of bad character designs and the most nonsensical writing this side of David Cage.

Bite my shiny metal cockpit!

Good for PC gamers. Sucks for me, since I'm still waiting for a Switch release. But at this point, I doubt 1.5 and 2.5 (the ones I want) will ever make it to the Switch.
