Forums - Gaming Discussion - GameStop big hires, online game services coming soon?

I think they will be creating something like Steam very soon.  Their brick and mortar stores will be transitioning into promoting the online store, selling computer hardware, hosting events, etc.

Would be wise for them as well to focus on partnering more and more with Nintendo IMO. Nintendo still makes Amiibos/collectibles. Nintendo still has a large focus on putting out physical games. Nintendo Switch is perfect for hosting events like Pokemon SwSh Raid parties for example. Microsoft/Sony seem to be much more focused on pushing people into digital/online markets.

Not sure how a Steam-like storefront would work for GameStop since they sell games for all platforms.

Don't they already have an online store?

IIRC they bought Impulse from Stardock years ago.
