Console Resolution Framerate Graphics settings Load Times
PS5 Native 1800p 60 fps locked, doesn't suffer from dropped frames on the outdoor section on the single level that causes some drops on Xbox, DF thinks it is due to the lower resolution on PS5. Ultra textures, medium shadows All levels load in under 10 seconds, PS5 is anywhere from 0.5 to 1 second faster than Xbox Series
Xbox Series X Native 4K/2160p 60 fps locked gameplay almost all the time, but there are some small drops when firing sniper rifles which seem to be caused by the zoomed in alpha particle smoke effects. Framerate drops into the 50-60 range on a single level's outdoor section. Ultra textures, high shadows All levels load in under 10 seconds, Xbox Series is anywhere from 0.5 to 1 second slower than PS5
Xbox Series S Native 1080p 60 fps locked gameplay on most levels, but there is an outdoor section on a single level that can cause drops into the 50-60 range, cutscene on an older Hitman 2 level also has dropped frames High textures, low shadows All levels load in under 10 seconds, Xbox Series is anywhere from 0.5 to 1 second slower than PS5

Summary: PS5 has a small advantage on framerate and a tiny advantage on load times, while Series X has both a higher resolution and higher quality shadows. DF say they prefer Series X over PS5 on this one, because the artstyle of the game really matches well with the higher resolution on Series X, and because the framerate drops are rare enough that they're not really an issue, especially if you play on a monitor or tv with variable refresh rate support. They call the Series S version "good enough" and say it looks crisp on a 1080p screen.

Clean looking game. Glad that developers are getting better with utilizing the Series X.

Finally seeing the extra horsepower being used. Good stuff.

...to avoid getting banned for inactivity, I may have to resort to comments that are of a lower overall quality and or beneath my moral standards.

Looks like the Series X pulls out a slim victory. Good to see near parity for PS5/Series X multiplats.

I'm assuming this is running in BC mode? Otherwise, why is there no RT?

Feels like the first big-ish win for Series X? Medium size win? win? of a size?

Anyways this is one of the few cross-gen games where I feel it really really important that I experience this on a next-gen platform. Whether an upgraded PC or otherwise. So wait I will : (

No, it is actually next-gen optimized, it's not just a BC improvement. The reason there is no ray-tracing is because IO Intertactive haven't actually added ray-tracing support to the engine yet, it is coming post-launch to the PC version, and there is a chance that they might patch in optional ray-tracing for the console versions as well later on, but they haven't said that for sure yet.

No, these are the optimized version for XSX and PS5.

Native 4k with a mostly solid 60 fps and a higher setting for the shadows seems like a pretty clear cut victory for the XSX here. Even the load times are damn near identical, despite the SSD boasting. This kind of difference between multiplats is what I expect to be the norm moving forward as more devs get time with the delayed devkits for the Series consoles. Not a huge difference, but a notable one. Looks and runs great on both overall though.

Why are people calling this a victory? These are locked resolutions. They are not even allowed to go head to head.

It takes genuine talent to see greatness in yourself despite your absence of genuine talent.

They locked the resolutions at what the developers felt each console ran the game best at, even lowered the shadows on PS5.  Do you not know what a head 2 head comparison actually is?

This is not a game running via BC, this is a gen 9 optimized cross gen game.  By your logic, any PS5 slim victory in the past could be discarded because they don't run on the same settings for dynamic resolution.
