2020 was a double-edged sword riddled with game delays due to COVID-19, but at the same time the pandemic provided people with more time to play video games. How many games have you bought in 2020 so far? Games that have released before 2020, but which you have only bought this year do count.

Please exclude games you've played through services such as PS+, Xbox Live Gold, Nintendo Switch Online or Game Pass. You did NOT buy these games. The same holds true for free-to-play titles.

...

Bonus question: As an obvious follow-up, how many more games do you plan to buy in 2020?

Legend11 correctly predicted that GTA IV (360+PS3) would outsell SSBB. I was wrong.

I haven't counted them, but I'm guessing it's probably around 30-39. Picked up a lot of bargain bin titles for Xbox after buying a One X in June.

Bonus: Outside of Cyberpunk I'm pretty much done for the year. Might pick up one or two more if there's a good special or surprise hit, but no real plans.

Xbox: 74 (before anyone asks: I buy every adventure game you‘ve never heard about, e.g. Stay, Football Game, Guard Duty, Apocalipsis, Irony Curtain, Trüberbrook).

Switch: Pikmin 3 Deluxe

Bonus: None, I‘m done

I believe I bought 3 games. I plan to buy 1 more in 2020.

I won't count my Humble Bundle subscription or the separate bundles I've purchased, just games I've bought individually:

  • Cyberpunk 2077 (pre-order)
  • Hellpoint
  • Into the Breach
  • Code Vein
  • Monopoly Plus
  • Valkyria Chronicles
  • Valkyria Chronicles 4
  • Diablo II: Reaper of Souls

So 8.

Around ten, mostly old games with big discounts.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Hardly any, FS2020, Tlou2 and Dreams are the only big ones. And Streets of rage 4, Creaks and Cuphead. I have no plans to buy any more games this year, waiting for ps5 to become available. FS2020 will keep me busy for a long time.

Granblue Versus
NiOh 2
Resident Evil 3 Remake
Persona 5 Royal
Final Fantasy 7 Remake
Ghost of Tsushima
Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight

Bonus Q: Probably Yakuza: Like a Dragon, because if you buy it for PS4, you get the PS5 version for free later anyway.
And I might get Dragon Quest XI S, but I'll probably get it in 2021 instead.

Far less this year than in the past, which I blame mainly on game pass.
