Would easily explain the delay without with even a release tentative date

I sure hope this doesn't end up like all the other franchises that seem to get one release per generation.

Wouldn't surprise me if it ends up being cross-gen at the least.

Anyway, I wish they showed more about the game, they've been silent about it for almost a year.

Maybe I'm crazy, but to me that looks like the copy-pasted the in-game character model into a real-world field, lol.

While I do think that part of the reason for the delay is to make the game cross-gen, I highly doubt they delayed it to make it fully next-gen. And there is no way that a cross-gen game is looking that good.

Maybe it's just me, but this really doesn't look good to me. Aesthetically, I mean. Like, it looks like they just dumped an anime character into a real field. Either that, or they took a normal looking scene and added a bunch of bloom and depth of field effects to it for no reason to make it look more impressive.

This just looks like a parody of the Nintendo Unreal Engine 4 fan videos.

I doubt the actual release will look this jarring honestly.

You are contradicting yourself here.

Yeah, it looks weird for sure. It's oversaturated and out of focus.

There is definitely a leap in environmental quality over what we've seen of the gameplay so far though:

That level of grass density alone would be very taxing on hardware, far too taxing for any current gen system. Even FFXV on PC with the grass density setting cranked up to it's highest setting doesn't have that much grass density. Tree foliage also looks alot denser.

Yeah, there's kind of too much contrast between how realistic is the field and the character. Hopefully the art style looks more consistent in the final release.

EDIT: At the end of the video it says that the video game inserts shown do not represent the actual games and were created just for promotional purposes, so this most probably isn't in-game footage.
