Forums - Sony Discussion - Did Sony accidentally leaked the Last of Us 2 release date for June 26, after Ghost of Tsushima release date re - announced on Twitter ???

https://www.gamesradar.com/uk/playstation-canada-lists-new-ghost-of-tsushima-release-date-as-august-1/

" Ghost of Tsushima delay may have been leaked by PlayStation Canada, whose website now suggests Sucker Punch's upcoming PS4 game is releasing on August 1, rather than its current launch date of June 26.

To make matters more complex, the game's product page on the PlayStation Canada website has the original June 26 release at the top of the page but also lists the August 1 date at the bottom of the page. Either someone at PlayStation Canada has got their wires crossed, or Sony is about to announce a delay to Ghost of Tsushima, which would push the game's launch window back by just over a month.

It's possible that a rescheduling such as this is to accommodate a new timeframe for The Last of Us 2, which recently had to withdraw from its original May 29 release date due to ongoing concerns around the continued spread of coronavirus across the globe. "

As long as they both release before the holidays that’s fine with me.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

I'm confused. Someone tell me what the OP is saying.

Sony probably accidentally leaked The last of US 2 release date from their Tweet on  Ghost of Tsushima release date

I don't get it either. Sony tweeted about being excited for the release date of ghost of tsushima on june 26th. What does that have to do with TLoU Part 2?

I think what he's trying to say is that the reason for TLOU 2 being delayed indefinitely is being unable to launch physically and digitally worldwide would also impact the launch of GoT. So the fact that GoT is launching June 26 gives us a good indication for when TLOU 2 should launch around.

Do I agree with that logic? Not fully, no. Their goal for GoT's worldwide launch might be different than TLOU 2. Furthermore, they could just be thinking currently that GoT is far out enough for it to not be impacted by the current world situation. When things come closer to launch they may reconsider if things haven't improved from how they are right now.

I googled Ghost of Tsushima. The suggestion seems to be that Ghost is going to get delayed by The Last of Us 2.

Stuff like
"A Ghost of Tsushima delay may have been leaked by PlayStation Canada, whose website now suggests Sucker Punch's upcoming PS4 game is releasing on August 1, rather than its current launch date of June 26.

and "Under the ‘Coming Soon’ section of the PlayStation Canada homepage, the release date for Sucker Punch Productions’ PlayStation 4 exclusive Ghost of Tsushima shows as 08/01/2020. According to an announcement made early last month, PlayStation had June 26 penciled in as the release date."

As spotted by a user on the Ghost of Tsushima Reddit page, PlayStation Canada's listing for the open world action title has the date "08/01/2020" posted as clear as day on its homepage, not once, but twice. You can check it out for yourself here. "

  • Deadliest mass shooting by an individual in US history (10/01/2017)
  • Deadliest high school shooting in US history (02/14/2018)
  • Deadliest massacre of Jews in US history (10/27/2018)
  • Political assassination attempt of TWO former presidents(and 10+ other people)  (10/23/2018 - and beyond)

I fully expect both to be delayed by at least a month.

@HollyGamer I think it would be good if you added some context to your TLOU2 claim in the OP.
I don't even remember what Sony said about TLOU2 exactly.
