Je-sus. More record breaking numbers. Where the hell do they find these Switches??????

Go Animal Crossing and Switch! Annihilate the competition.

This week's numbers still don't give the impression that the hybrid SKU is in sufficient supply in Japan, but the overall numbers are obviously great. Animal Crossing is massive, both in terms of its software sales as well as its system-selling power. 675k Switch consoles sold in the past two weeks alone, so at the end of 2020's first quarter we are looking at a cumulative year over year gain of ~730k, that's a plus of approximately 75% in comparison to last year's performance.

Like I pointed out last week, quarter 2 is a string of almost exclusively easy year over year comparisons. If supply constraints for Switch hardware aren't too severe in the coming months, then we'll be definitely heading for a 5m+ year regardless of what's on Nintendo's release schedule in the latter half of 2020.

Legend11 correctly predicted that GTA IV (360+PS3) would outsell SSBB. I was wrong.

So much for the hardware dropping off a cliff right Curl??? :P

Amazing Switch numbers! The numbers for the supply constrained OG model alone are over last year's numbers. Add in the Lite numbers and it crushes everything.

Signature goes here!

HO...LY SHHHH!!! I think I'm more shocked by this week's HW Switch numbers than last week's! I guess to the Japanese market, AC and the Lite go together like PB & J.

Also, looks like Ring Fit's stock is coming back so that's also good to see.

AC New Horizon’s second week still better than New Leafs first :P

3DS 168.662. * ACNL 721.786

Switch reached 13.08m LTD this week. The 3DS sold 15.41m at the same point in its life, so there's still a long way to go until the only remaining country where the 3DS did better launch-aligned falls. The gap was above 3m in favor of the 3DS at its highest point, now it's down to under 2.4m. The 3DS sold 3.16m in 2014 as a whole, Switch is gunning for 5m in 2020, so the sales trajectories make it very likely that the crossing point will occur sometime during the fifth year on the market (the 3DS sold only 2.16m in 2015).

With digital AC will be at the 4m mark already.
